NEW Swiss Skincare

July 29, 2016

SWISSE is an Australian brand (founded in the suburbs of Melbourne - yay Melbourne pride!) that most people associate with supplements and vitamins. In the past few years Swisse has branched out to making natural skincare. They have recently added some exciting new products to their line which will be perfect for up coming spring/summer months (yep, I am counting down the days until winter is over!). I was lucky enough to be send them to test out and I have been trying some of these products out for the past few weeks.

The new products are the Echinacea Clear Skin Moisturiser, Natural Defence Moisturiser SPF 15, Natural Defence BB Cream SPF 30 (in Light Beige and Medium Beige), Sea Salt Body Polish and the Multivitamin Repair Body Oil.

Since it is still winter, my three most used products from the range are the Sea Salt Body Polish, the Natural Defence Moisturiser SPF 15 and the Multivitamin Repair Body Oil.

The Sea Salt Body Polish is a very gentle scrub that contains coconut shell (which is great for the environment) and has a fresh lemon myrtle scent. Even though this isn't as scrubby as I normally want my body polishes (the scrubbier the better in my opinion), what I love about this is that it is a very thick oil based product which emulsifies as it hits the water so it moisturises the skin without leaving it greasy. So even though this doesn't quite cut it for a body scrub (just my opinion), I have been loving this as a slightly scrubby shower oil.

After I jump out of the shower I love using the Multivitamin Repair Body Oil. This is not like a typical runny body oil, it is almost like a mix between an oil and a lotion and it is a lot less messy to apply - it almost applies like a lotion but has the benefits of an oil. It contains 100% naturally sourced ingredients, contains Vitamins A, C & E and helps reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks and aging skin.

I also love using the Natural Defence Moisturiser SPF 15 as a light sunscreen in the cooler months. This is a really light-weight and easy to wear lotion that, in my opinion, provides enough SPF for going to work/spending most of your time out indoors in the cooler months. This is a natural SPF that protects from UVA, UVB, infra-red and provides protection from environmental damages (pollutants etc). In summer I would recommend wearing a higher SPF, but this is a very quick and simple way to introduce a broad spectrum SPF into your skincare routine. Oh and it hasn't broken me out (unlike some sunscreens).

Onto the products that I think will be more suited for the warmer months.

The Echinacea Clear Skin Moisturiser is a lightweight moisturiser that is designed to control oil, to mattify the skin, refine the pores and control blemishes. I quite like this moisturiser and it is suited for my skin concerns, but I find it too light weight for my slightly drier than normal winter skin so I will definitely be reaching for this more in summer. Not only is this lightweight and really comfortable, but it 72 hours of moisture and it has a beautiful soft fresh scent.

The next products that might be peoples summer favourites are the two Natural Defence BB Creams SPF 30. If you are a fan of a moisturising BB cream then this one is great because, just like Natural Defence Moisturiser SPF 15, this protects against UVA, UVA, infra-red and environmental pollutants and it is SPF 30. This comes in two shades - Light Beige and Medium Beige, and even though they look quite dark in the tube they are very light coverage and blend out to a much lighter tint. I will most likely use these as a sunscreen under my foundation as I love the protection that it provides but I prefer a more mattifying and heavier coverage foundation.

Overall I think these products are a great addition to the Swisse range. I love seeing good quality natural products on the market and I am particularly impressed with the additional infra-red and environmental protection that the SPF products provide.

Check out more information at the Swisse website or check these out in store at Priceline where they each retail for under $25.

Note: these products were given to me as a press sample. My review is 100% my own opinion
