Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil - after 4 weeks of daily use

I was recently asked to use the Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil for 4 weeks and report my results and I happy obliged because I used to use this oil religiously a few years ago and I know how good this oil is! 

A bit of a background about the benefits of Rose Hip Oil before I talk about my skin concerns and what I noticed after using the oil day and night for 4 weeks. Rose Hip Oil is rich in essential fatty acids which helps repair the skin, reduce scars, and moisturise the skin, Vitamin A which helps prevent the signs of aging, and antioxidants which also repairs the skin. Using an oil also helps balance oily skin and heals breakouts.


I first started using Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil a few years ago when I had issues with excessive oiliness and blemishes and I noticed pretty quickly that using the oil on a daily basis tricked my skin into thinking it had produced enough oil and therefore reduced the excessive oiliness. Often people think that applying an oil on oily skin is a bad thing, but it actually does wonders at reducing oiliness. The Kosmea Rose Hip Oil also sinks into the skin really nicely and doesn't leave any oily residue on the skin and instead just leaves the skin plump and hydrated. The antioxidant and essential fatty acids helped heal blemishes and the scarring caused by blemishes, and from my experiences I have noticed that the balancing of the oil actually prevents breakouts.

Now, you might be wondering why I stopped using the Kosmea Rose Hip Oil? As I was getting older, and I no longer worried so much about oily skin and breakouts, I decided to move into more anti aging serums just to try something new. Well, this 4 week challenge came at the perfect time because I noticed that start of winter really dried out my skin and as a result my skin started becoming very chapped and my skin started becoming quite oily to combat it. I also started getting some very red and inflamed breakouts around my chin which were very painful.

For the last 4 weeks I used 3-4 drops of the Kosmea Rose Hip oil all over my face morning and night, after cleansing and before applying a moisturiser and these are my results:

The above photos are taken with natural light and no foundation or base products. The lighting is quite different in each photo but hopefully you can see that I had more breakouts and inflamed redness around my chin in the before photos and the breakouts had completely cleared and the redness had calmed down in the after photos. Some of the discolouration and scars caused by breakouts also started to reduce.

Not only did the Rose Hip Oil help with clearing up the breakouts and healing the redness, but it completely stopped my dry chapped winter skin. My skin started feeling a lot plumper and even fine lines around my eyes plumped up.

I will definitely continue to use this is my skincare routine and I highly recommend this to anyone who needs more moisture in their skin, has aging concerns, has scarring, blemishes, oiliness, or just wants to keep their skin feeling plump and healthy.
