Favourites - June 2016

It's time for June Favourites and I am pretty excited to share some gems with you this month! Over the last few months I have been finishing a project pan which hindered me playing with fun new products or rediscovering old makeup loves... so I am glad that I have a favourites that I am keen on sharing!

Lets jump straight in with a few products from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I recently ordered the new Modern Renaissance Palette and my first Liquid Lipsticks in Kathryn (warm raspberry red) and Ashton (warm brown) and I have been loving all of them! The quality of the eyeshadows in the palette is perfection and the shades walk a fine line between wearable and almost too colourful, but for some reason they all work amazing on the eye for any warm or berry nude look (yes, I even love the bright pink!). I normally don't like matte liquid lipsticks but the ABH Liquid Lipsticks tend to fade to more of a stain throughout the day rather than wear off patchy and crackly which makes me like these over many other brands I have tried. The shades are also perfect for the cooler weather... and my name is Kathryn so of course I needed that shade in my collection. Swatches later in this post.

With the cold weather in Melbourne I have been taking longer warm showers and one of the products that I have been loving is the Lush Refresher Shower Jelly. This is pretty much a jelly version of a shower gel that has a strong lemon, almost lemon Strepsils scent, which is fresh yet warm and comforting.

Since it is the middle of winter I have been dealing with dry skin and lips and I have been reaching for the Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish often! This is a lip balm that has a very find micro scrub in it that helps exfoliate your lips when you apply it. It also has a textured applicator which further exfoliates and massages your lips when you apply it. So amazing!

My hands down most used and favourite highlighter of the month is the Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Highlighter in Aura. This is a perfect light, almost white, highlighter that has a pinky purple shift to it. It is soft but noticeable and is a great alternative to the typical champagne or gold highlighter. This is my cooler weather highlighting staple!

The last few beauty products worthy of noting are:
Inglot Eyeliner Gel in #77 which is one of the blackest and smoothest gel liners I have ever used. It might not last as long as my MAC Fluidline in Blacktracks but it sure is blacker!
Essie Peak Snow nail polish which is the perfect shade of opaque white/pink/nude. I have been loving pairing dark makeup with lighter nails.
Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette in 002 Coral Glow this has become my no fuss work contouring palette since it is subtle and really quick and easy to apply but gives the face subtle dimension. The highlighter is also the bomb if you love a noticeable, but not too intense, champagne highlighter.

So that's it! What were your favourite products of June?

Note: some of these products were given to me as a press sample. My review is 100% my own opinion
