Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette finally arrived in Australia... and went as fast as it arrived.

This is a "limited edition" summer (in the US) palette from Too Faced, and I use quotation marks because Too Faced are known to bring out limited edition products but then make them permanent when they sell out (which annoys me to no end). They have already announced that they are making another batch of these palettes that will be released before Christmas.

Aaaanyway this retails in Australia for $72 and when it is in stock it can be purchased from the Mecca website or in store at Mecca Maxima.

The packaging is very similar to that of the Chocolate Bar Palettes, most similarly the Bon Bons Palette. It has a tin packaging, a magnetic closure and a mirror in the lid. The packaging does have a beautiful peach to pink to orange gradient effect and a peach on the front. Just like how the Chocolate Bar Palettes smell like cocoa, this palette has an artificial peach scent to it.

The main difference you can see with this palette compared to the Chocolate Bar Palettes is that this has 18 small pans of eye shadows that contains 0.95g each whereas the Chocolate Bar Palettes each have 14 small pans and two large pans. I personally prefer this Sweet Peach format.

Do note that each of these shades are unique to this palette, however if you have the other Chocolate Bar Palettes, the Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette or any other Too Faced palettes then you will find some close dupes.

Normally I go through each shade individually and describe the shade and formula, but since this palette is sold out world wide then I don't really think its that necessary. You can see from the swatches above that this is overall quite a warm neutral palette and it contains a mix of shimmer shades, matte shades, satin shades and the strange formula that Too Faced love to include - the matte with sparkle.
The pros of this palette is that it is a fun cohesive palette and if you love peach then you will love this palette. Some of the shades are winners - Nectar, Peaches N' Cream, Luscious, Caramelized, Puree, Tempting and Peach Pitt are all great shades. If all of the shades shared the texture and pigmentation as these 7 shades then I would HIGHLY recommend the palette.
The cons of this palette is that the rest of the shades are either ok or pretty rubbish. The rubbish shades tend to be most of the mattes (besides Peaches N' Cream and Puree) and the shades that have a matte base with sparkle. Also for a peach palette this shade only really has three peachy shades and none of them translate very well on the eye and it requires a lot of building up to make the peach show up. They could have swapped out a few generic brown shades for muted peaches, deeper peaches and lighter peaches of varying finishes (Too Faced hire me next time you make a themed palette). They could have done a lot with a peach theme but they played it too safe. Since the browns tend to have better pigmentation and formula they dominate any look that does contain peach... and this really does end up being just another warm brown palette with unwearable pops of colours *cough* chocolate bar *cough*.
Do I like the palette? Yes. Do I recommend paying ridiculous amounts of money for it on eBay or searching the globe for it? F**k no! This reminds me a lot of the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette but with pops of peach that don't translate on the eye.

  1. I have to agree with you Kat! I'm glad I picked this up because I will get use out of the majority of the shades, but no way is it worth all the hype! I think it's just the novelty of it. And yeah, some of the shades are so disappointing and the shade range could have been a bit more adventurous. Like, where are the actual peach colours like the fruit - oranges and yellow-y shades??

  2. So glad someone has an honest review around here! AWESOME! I have the chocolate bon bons and it is quite disappointing because even though most of the colours have good pigment, the one really cool and unique shade "so fetch" was kinda rubbish.
