Wearing hydrating masks overnight?

Happy Friday! I thought today I would share with you one of my favourite skincare tips for plump glowing skin - hydrating masks! And for an even more intense plumping effect - wearing hydrating masks overnight!

Of course you can buy overnight masks, but for some reason I have found that hydrating masks work better and give a more noticeable effect after one application than other overnight masks I have tried, and they also tend to be more affordable. The two hydrating masks that I have been LOVING are the Sukin Hydrating Facial Masque and the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask.

The Sukin Hydrating Facial Masque is a beautifully thick, natural, paraben free mask that contains mango butter, avocado oil, pineapple extract, olive fruit extract and papaya fruit extract. The butters and oils help hydrate and plump the skin and the pineapple and papaya extracts contain enzymes that smooth the skin and give it a glow. The directions are to apply this on a clean damp face for 15min and then remove it with warm water and a wash cloth. I have followed the directions and it does do a great job at hydrating the skin, but if you want your skin plump and glowing the next day, I recommend applying a small amount of this as your night moisturiser. This doesn't have any strong scent but I did notice that it has a soft mango butter scent which is quite nice. This is a great mask and it is super affordable at $15.95 for 100ml. You can buy this from the Sukin website or pick it up at Priceline.

I also love the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask and this was the mask that I liked as a 15 minute treatment but LOVED it when I started using it as an overnight treatment. This mask is also very hydrating, but what is magic about this mask is that it contains manuka honey which has antibacterial properties, so if you need added hydration but you have break outs or redness, this will help soothe and treat the skin as well. This also has a natural vanilla and orange scent. This is pricer at $49.50 for 75ml, but it will last you a long time and it will become a skincare saviour. You can buy this from the Antipodes website or at Priceline.

  1. Great tip! I'm definitely going to try this! My pillow case will be covered in mask as I move around a lot when I sleep but worth the try if it works! <3

    1. they generally do dry enough for it not to get all over your pillow... so its like when you are using a normal night cream or serum. Just don't apply heaps, apply it like you would a moisturiser x

  2. Ooh, I'll have to try the Aura Manuka overnight, since I'm only so-so about it when I use it traditionally. It would be a beautiful scent to fall asleep to :)

    Have a great weekend, Kat!

    1. I was the same until I used it overnight. Let me know what you think once you have used it overnight!

  3. My absolute favourite mask left on overnight has been the NATIO Clay and Plant Face Mask Purifier for years. But I'm willing to try something new & I trust all of your recommendations! I cant wait to try these masks and the 1000hr foot peel. Keep up the good work Kat, i thoroughly enjoy your videos and occasional rants. ;) X
