Nip + Fab Skin Glycolic Fix range

February 26, 2016

Last month during the Priceline skincare sales I picked up a few Nip + Fab products. I had heard of this brand but I generally never NEED skincare (thanks to an overstocked cupboard) so I never looked into it further. I did find myself in need of a face scrub so I hit the 40% off sales and was immediately drawn to the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix range.

There are a few different ranges in the Nip + Fab line and it is easy to distinguish between them because each range has completely different coloured packaging. I was most interested in the Glycolic Fix range and obviously the ingredient that this particular range shares is glycolic acid - which is an ingredient that acts as a chemical exfoliant and helps with skin texture.

I was originally just going to buy the scrub, but when I noticed the scent of the Glycolic Fix range, I had to buy more! The scent is very strong but it smells like fresh and zingy grapefruit and I was hooked! I am a big fan of fragrances and I often find that a fragrance can make or break my experience with skincare... so I ended up picking up the scrub, the gel cleanser, the overnight purifying gel and the daily cleansing pads.

Nip + Fab Skin Glycolic Scrub Fix: I thought I would start by talking about the product that impressed me the most from this range (and I wish I bought more while it was on sale). This contains glycolic acid but also salicylic acid to help clean the pores. This is a deceptive product because it looks like a white cream that wouldn't have much scrubbing ability, but it actually works really well. I love a scrub that is harsh enough to be very effective but not too scratchy, and that's exactly what this was. It does a great job, it smells fresh and amazing and it's not too expensive ($21.95 full price). I think I have found my new favourite scrub.

Nip + Fab Skin Glycolic Cleansing Fix: The cleanser shares the same awesome scent as the scrub and works well as a basic gel cleanser. Together with glycolic acid this contains apple amino acid for foaming and olive oil for hydration. This isn't as wow as the scrub, but it's pretty good and at $17.95 full priced it's a great basic gel cleanser.

Nip + Fab Skin Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads: Another product that was pretty good are the daily cleansing pads. This contains 60 pads that are soaked in a liquid containing glycolic acid, witch hazel, hyaluronic acid and blue daisy. I mainly bought these because I am really lazy with cleansing my skin in the morning and often just use Bioderma on a cotton pad to remove any oils and dirt from overnight... I thought these were made for me! I honestly don't mind these, BUT I haven't seen any change in my skin and they are pretty expensive at $29.95 full priced (around 50c per tiny round wipe). I don't regret buying these on sale but I think for the results these aren't worth the $30.

Nip + Fab Skin Glycolic Fix Overnight Purifying Gel: This is an overnight gel serum that is designed to unclog pores and purify the skin and contains glycolic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide (anti-inflammatory and reduces the production of sebum). The concept of this is great but I must admit that it was my least favourite product of the four. Firstly this didn't give any noticeable results and secondly I didn't like using it. When I apply a serum or face cream I tend to always get some on my lips... which I never normally notice. With this product I could tell when I got it on my lips because it had a really odd taste and feel... it almost felt like I got deodorant in my mouth (yes that sounds strange but if you have ever tasted deodorant you will know what I am talking about). For the price tag of $34.95 I didn't love this and it's the one product of the four that I wish I didn't buy.

Overall I like this range, there is one product that I love and will buy time and time again, two products that I liked and one I didn't like.... I would say that evens out to an overall like.

You can check out more from this range at Priceline. I do recommend checking out Nip + Fab if you like good and generally affordable skincare.

  1. I am so happy that you reviewed these products as I have been to try this range from Nip + Fab for a while. I originally wanted the pads but after reading this I feel I may need to try the scrub first, it sounds amazing!! xx
