I know it's the start of the start of the year and the 2015 Christmas makeup sets are soooo last year... BUT I wanted to mention a set that I bought from Sephora recently and I am actually loving it so I wanted to tell you guys about it in case you wanted to buy it before it sells out.
This is the Tarte Holidaze Lips For Daze LipSurgence Set and it retails in Sephora Australia for $48... for five, yes FIVE, full sized LipSurgence lip tints. One lip tint in Australia retails for $32 so this pack is an amazing deal. Now I haven't been to Sephora in a couple of weeks but when I did go there were HEAPS of these in stock so hopefully you can still pick them up.
This pack contains five LipSurgence Lip Tints (3 matte and 2 normal) and they are all nude/berry shades. These are full size but they have Christmas limited edition gold and black lids on them. These are super wearable shades and are perfect to throw in your bag and wear every day.
These are all limited edition shades which is a bummer because I love them all!
The shades are:
Haze (matte): A peachy nude that gives a my lips but better matte finish
Glaze: A beautiful rosy nude that reminds me a lot of the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Honey - another my lips but better shade with a sheen and a more pink tone.
Emblaze (matte): I am dead for this shade, it's the perfect raspberry shade without being too dark.
Praise: This is an amazingly pigmented nude mid toned brown nude.
Craze (matte): A warm strawberry shade that gives some colour to the lips without being too bold.
Now the formula does vary between the two finishes but I am overall really impressed with both. Both are mint scented and have a slight tingle when you apply them (which I quite like). The matte ones are a little dry to apply (and don't look very pigmented when swatched) but when they are applied they look super matte without being too drying and they last HOURS! I can apply these in the morning, wear these through lunch and there will still be traces of them by the end of the day. I honestly didn't expect the longevity to be so good! The only downside is that the matte formula is a little dry and can feel cakey if you build them up... and you do need to build them up slightly to get an even and opaque finish. But the colours are fab, they look great on the lips and last ages!
I also love the original formula ones (the more balm finish ones), they have great pigmentation (especially Praise), they glide on evenly and they last hours... not as long as the matte ones, but definitely until you eat a meal. Praise is particularly fantastic and it has a strong opaque colour that looks like a liquid lipstick! Once the shine wears off these do still provide colour to the lips for quite some time.
If you have been curious about the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tints I HIGHLY recommend trying out this set! You might not love all the shades, but man they are great value and I was pleasantly surprised by the formula.
