I am currently in Vietnam (yep, writing a blog post late at night in bed) so my blog will be a little quiet over the next two weeks… but I thought I would make some time for my favourites of October! If you want to see any posts about my time in Vietnam just let me know!
October was a little highlighter crazy and I did a review of the whole Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators (see post and giveaway here) and the two that captured my attention the most were Starlight and Peach Nectar (see swatches later in this post). Peach Nectar is quite dark as a highlighter on my skin but it makes the most amazing shimmery peach blush. Because this highlighter gives more of a sheen rather than glitter, then it gives a beautiful glow to the cheeks. I am also loving Starlight as an actual highlighter as it gives a really light sheen to the skin but instead of looking frosty and harsh it almost has a pink sheen which looks really unique. This is the perfect highlighter for people who don't like a gold highlighter, or just want a change.
Palmers Raw Shea Body Lotion needs a quick mention as its been the lotion that I have been reaching for all month. This is a lightweight lotion that keeps the skin moisturised but also has a lovely vanilla baby powder scent which lasts nicely on the skin.
I picked up the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous in shade 115 Buff Beige on sale for half price, but full priced it's only $16.95 - which is crazy cheap in Australia. I have oily skin and normally foundations start to break down around my t-zone looking really patchy. This foundation is a normal finish, but instead of breaking down with oil it makes the skin look slightly dewy and healthy (if you want a matte finish then just powder). The only downsides are that it oxidises a tiny bit and it applies streaky with a brush… but if you use a beauty blender or your fingers then its fine! Definitely a very affordable and good quality foundation. I did a first impressions review here.
I have been using the Orly Nailtrition Nail Growth Treatment as a base coat to my nails for a few months now and the other day I got distracted half way through doing my nails and ended up only having this Nailtrition treatment on my nails. What I loved about it was that it not only helps strengthen your nails, but it has a pearlescent sheen which makes the nails look shiny and healthy. Normally I hate not wearing nail polish because my nails are a little stained which looks ugly, but the sheen really helps disguise that! I have been wearing this as my nail polish for the last couple of weeks and I am really liking the natural but healthy finish it gives.

If I had to pick one favourite product of the month it would be the Kryolan Combi Foundation T5 & YH. I got this at a Kryolan event this month and I am obsessed! This is a foundation duo which gives you bright white yellow shade and a dark brown tan shade. You can use this to mix your own foundation shade or you can use it to highlight and contour. I started using this by applying some of the brown with a dab of the yellow as a natural looking contour, but I realised that the yellow makes for the most beautiful bright and natural under eye highlighter! Normally I hate using really light concealers or products under my eyes because it looks really unnatural, but this looks amazing! Both of these shades have nice pigmentation and blend out beautifully! This is my new go to contour and highlight product!
Before I discovered the amazingness of the Kryolan Combi Foundation, I was loving the Pixi Natural Contour Powder Shape & Shadow. This is a pigmented contour powder that is the nicest natural contour colour! This is very cool toned (but not too cool toned which can look very grey) and it would work well on most skin tones. The only downside is that it does apply a little patchy if you apply too much product so make sure to apply a small amount and build it up. If you struggle with contour powders looking too warm and orange on you, this is a great one to check out.
Last but not least is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown. I bought this and did a comparison with the new Chi Chi Brow Pomade earlier this month. The ABH one was the clear winner in my opinion - it's easy to apply, lasts all day on the brows, is waterproof and it contains heaps of product. Check out my review and comparison here.
So those are my favourites of October. What were yours?
