I can't believe it's December! DECEMBER! (well, technically tomorrow is December - calm your farm Kat)
Ah well, that means looking back on all the products I loved in November.
Since I was on holidays at the start of November I will mention a couple of products that I used every day on holidays (and didn't get sick of) and the products I loved playing around with when I got back.
Okay, there are two stand out products that I took on holidays with me and used every day for two weeks straight without getting sick of them (and have used them many times since getting back). The first is MAC Eyeshadow in Tempting. I have this shade in a quad but you can buy it individually and it's a permanent shade. It is a lustre finish and is described as a "sinfully rich cocoa" but I think its more of a deep golden bronze with a shimmery finish. This is the perfect bronze because it's not too warm, not too cool, not too red, not too gold.... it's just perfect! I apply this all over the lid and the lower lash line and blend it out with a matte caramel shade for a quick and beautiful look. This would make blue eyes pop but it also really warms up brown eyes. See swatch below.
The second product I rediscovered my love for while overseas is the Sleek Blush in Rose Gold. Not only is this a super cheap blush ($7 on the Sleek website) but it is amazing! The pigmentation is crazy amazing but it also blends really nicely. The base colour is a coral pink and then it has a strong yellow gold sheen which gives it almost a duo-chrome flash. You can apply this for a subtle shimmer pink cheek or you can build it up for more of a peachy pink flush with a strong gold flash. This acts as a blush and a gold highlighter in one which is really handy.
Then for a couple of new makeup products that I have been trialing.
Firstly is a highlight that I think will be making an appearance in a lot of peoples favourites post this month - MAC's limited edition Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Oh, Darling (full review here). This sold out really quickly and is on many people's wish list... and I understand why! It is a beautiful bold gold highlight and it gives the most amazing metallic sheen to the skin. If you did miss out on this highlighter, I did a post on dupes for Oh, Darling - check it out here.
The lip product that impressed me was the Sephora Color Lip Last Lipstick in 16 Orange Rocks which I bought in Singapore. Not only is the colour a bright orange toned red (my personal favourite shade) but once this sets it lasts hours and hours and hours. I apply this at 8am and it only starts to wear off at 3 or 4pm in the afternoon! It also has a lovely matte finish but doesn't feel uncomfortable.

The Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo saved my hair this month. I have been trialing a new product (don't worry, I will review it soon) and it left sooo much excess product in my hair and left my hair feeling heavy and greasy. I tried to wash it out with a normal shampoo but it didn't budge, the only thing that restored my hair to a soft weightless volumised clean feel was this shampoo. This is a great clarifying shampoo and it is best used as a second shampoo step because it doesn't lather very well on dirty hair. Highly recommend!
The nail polish that I loved this month is the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Geo Mint-rick. This is a fun, bright, minty teal shade and the formula is nicely pigmented and lasts a nearly a week with minimal wear. I am on the fence about this Sally Hansen Miracle Gel formula as I find the formula varies dramatically between the shades (see what I mean here) but this shade is really lovely both in formula and shade.
The fake tan that I have been loving recently is the Trilogy Instant Bronzing Gel Self Tan. This tan is a runny gel that contains a lot of gold shimmer (see what it looks like in this post) that gives a lovely sheen to the skin and it develops into a soft tan. This is best used during the day (theres no real point putting shimmer on when you are going to bed) but the best thing about it is that it dries within a matter of seconds! This smells of alcohol to start out with but then develops to almost a maple syrup scent. This is a really fast and simple to apply and I can comfortably apply this in the morning and know that I won't smell like fake tan or turn patchy during the day.
Last, but not least is the Paula's Choice 4 Mattes & A Glam Eyeshadow Palette. I was send this for review and I am in love with it! If I am not wearing MAC Tempting, I am wearing this. Normally I only use matte eyeshadows in the crease or the brow bone because I find that pigmented matte eyeshadows can often apply very patchy. These mattes have totally changed my mind! They are soft, buttery, nicely pigmented and blend amazingly. Funnily enough these don't swatch with the finger very well, but they apply beautifully with a brush. The matte shades are standard every day nude and brown shades and the glam shade is a sparkly pinky purple shade. I personally would use this more if the glam shade was a gold/bronze/copper/olive, but the formula is lovely. I have been using the matte shades on the lid and the glam shade on the lower lash line and it is guaranteed to give me a good makeup day! And here is the icing on the cake... this palette is only $40! I wish they had more shades available! I would love to see a larger palette with maybe 8 mattes (including some warm rusty shades) and maybe 4 glam shades - it would be a dream palette! Check out the Paula's Choice website for stockists.
That's it folks! Let me know what your favourite products of November were!
