Hello friends! Today on the blog is a quick look at the new OPI Venice Collection that has come out for Fall/Winter 2015. In Australia autumn and winter has come and gone (thankfully) but this pack might interest those people who are going into autumn/fall and also for people who like some classic nail polish shades.
This Venice Collection contains 12 full sized polishes and a pack of four mini polishes. This pack retails in Australia for $24.95 and you can get it at places like Myer. I personally love these kits because I rarely finish a whole nail polish, and if you try a mini that you love then you can invest in the full size. My only issue with the minis is that they don't have the shade names on the bottles... so take a photo of the box before you throw it out so you can remember the shade names.
A Great Opera-tunity - “Aria” ready to wear this gorgeous melon?
This is a cream finish and it is a very interesting shade that boarders the fine line between nude and peach. When I wore this I kept changing my mind from thinking it looks fantastic to thinking it looks odd. I think that confusion makes this a really interesting shade and so far its my favourite shade in the range. The formula is very pigmented but it applies streaky so you do need 2-3 coats for an even application.
Worth a Pretty Penne - Flaunt your fashion “cents” in this shimmery copper.
I normally don't like shimmery or metallic shades but this one is the exception. In some lights this looks nude, in other lights it looks rose gold or even bronze. I think this a very elegant shade and it is a nice alternative to a nude. It would look great with a tan. This applies evenly but requires two coats for an even application. I am wearing two coats in the photo below.
Amore at the Grand Canal - Let the romance flow in this ravishing red.
I haven't used this polish yet so I can't comment on the formula, but the shade is a classic red that doesn't lean to warm or two cool. This is a staple in any nail polish collection.
My Gondola or Yours - Let’s cruise the canals in this luscious black.
Similar to Amore at the Grand Canal, I haven't used this shade yet, but a bold black is also a staple in any nail polish collection.
Even though this set isn't really suited for the warmer weather that we are about to encounter in Australia, it's a great pack to invest in if you don't have many nail polishes and are looking for some classic shades. The red and black are classic chic shades and the nude/peach and metallic coppery nude and beautiful every day shades.
What are your thoughts on this collection? Will you be buying any of the shades?
This product was sent for review, but my opinions are completely honest.
