I recently bought a new nail polish from Kester Black and realised that a post dedicated purely to Kester Black is a VERY overdue.
I first bought Kester Black nail polish a couple of years ago and it has quickly become my favourite brand of nail polish. Not only are they vegan, cruelty free, five free (meaning it contains no Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor), but the shades available and formula are phenomenal. If I could design a nail polish brand, this is pretty much exactly what I would want my brand to be like! Another bonus is that Kester Black is a Melbourne based company (Melbourne pride!).
Anna Ross (creator of Kester Black) and Chelsea Bagan (from Trophy Wife) also joined forces to print The Hand Book: A Guide to Nail Art which retails for $20 and is a fantastic source of nail art inspiration, or even just a great coffee table book for any beauty lover.
Here is my little collection of Kester Black polishes. Each polish retails for $20 but the colours are out of this world and the formula is fantastic. I much prefer to invest in a Kester Black polish than an OPI polish because the quality is far superior in my opinion. All of the shades are available from the Kester Black online store, or you can check out their stockist page to see where you can buy them in store.
The shades that I have are (l-r) Prenup, Monarch (my newest acquisition), Acid, Sugar Daddy, Bougainvillea (my favourite purple of all time), Nude, Laguna, Silver Birch and Alimony.
Look how beautiful Monarch is! This applies smoothly and only requires two coats for an opaque finish. This photo is after a few days wear (with a top coat).
Have you tried Kester Black? What are your thoughts on the brand?
