June/July 2015 Empties!

July 23, 2015

It's that time where we go though my secret stash of rubbish and see what products I have used up recently! Here are my empties from June/July 2015

If you can't be bothered reading about my empties I also did a video here:

Lets start with makeup. I have been doing a makeup diet since the start of the year so I have been targeting products to primarily use until they are used up. Because of this makeup diet I have significantly more makeup in my empties than I usually have.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Luster: I actually really enjoyed this lip gloss! It lasted a good few hours on the lips, gave a nice natural pink hint and also a nice amount of shine. This was the lip product that I would reach for when I wanted an easy but flattering lip product at work. I would definitely repurchase this if I was looking for a new lip gloss (which I'm not... I have heaps!). This retails for $23 in Australia so it's not super cheap, but its really nice and I wore it heaps. I also love the berry shade in the range.
Repurchase - yes

Benefit Brow Zings in Light: BAH! I just realised that I didn't take photos with the products open. Ah well, you can use your imagination. This is a brow kit that contains a tinted wax, a powder, two mini brushes and tweezers. I loved this brow kit and Light worked on my medium - dark brows really well. I had this kit forever (like 4 years) and I originally mainly used the tinted wax to do my brows, but as that got a little funky over the years (I hit pan on it but didn't bother to finish up the wax) so I focused on using up the brow powder and I became obsessed with it. It was the perfect light brown ashy shade that I could use every day for a neat but not overly bold brow. Not a cheap kit, but its worth the money!
Repurchase - yes

Too Faced Mocha Mi Amore: This is an old blush that is no longer available, but it was a nice rosy toned bronze blush that you could use as a sculpting blush (aka a blush that can define your cheeks like a contour). I did enjoy using it and would look at repurchasing something of a similar shade.
Repurchase - I would repurchase something similar yes

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Marry Up: Holy cow I was obsessed with this! It is one of the only cream eye shadows that I have ever used up and I was so sad to see it go. It was a beautiful mid toned bronze that I literally wore every day to work. Not only was the colour and pigmentation fantastic, but this was the only cream shadow that didn't crease on me without needing to prime or set it with a powder. It was amazing. Sadly this shade has been discontinued but I am keen to try other shades from the range.
Repurchase - definitely if they still had the shade.

Illamasqua Matte Primer: This is another product that I think has been discontinued or reformulated. I didn't like this primer, it didn't keep me matte at all and made little to no difference to my makeup. I just used it to use it up.
Repurchase - no

Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder in Deep Natural: These are always in my empties because they are one of my top setting powders. This is quite pigmented so be careful with it if you don't want to look cakey... but I love it! I have probably two of these as back ups!
Repurchase - already have!

Revlon Colorstay Whipped - I love the original liquid version of the Colorstay but I couldn't get on board with this whipped version. It doesn't seem to set and stay as well as the liquid version so I really only used it to use it up. This would suit people with drier skin. Also you get less product so I used it up pretty quickly. The packaging is very bulky but I am going to keep the tub for when I want to mix foundations.
Repurchase - no

Kosmea Skin Clinic Rosehip Oil: I haven't been using as much rosehip oil as I used to (I used to use it every night and now I might use it once a week), but I really love Kosmea's rosehip oil. I think I have used up like 4-5 bottles of this stuff but I am in the mood for trying different brands so I won't repurchase this just yet. Tip - buy this at Chemist Warehouse because they often have it on sale.
Repurchase - yes

Milk and Co Face Cleanser: This is the second one of these cleansers that I have used. It is a nice gentle gel cleanser that makes your skin feel very fresh and clean without being stripped of all its oils. I would repurchase this down the track.
Repurchase - yes

Rexona Motion Sense Shower Fresh and Nivea Stress Protect: I thought I would quickly mention the deodorants that I used up. These are pretty standard ones for me and I have repurchased them many times.
Repurchase - yes

Coles Make-Up Removal Pads: I have used these many times and they are pretty good and super cheap.
Repurchase - yes

NUXE Reve De Miel Lip Balm: I love this lip balm and have already repurchased it. It's not cheap (around $20) but it lasted me a year of using this at night. The best night lip treatment! I did a full review here.
Repurchase - already have

Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly: I did not like this! It smells amazing but it is a very wobbly jelly that is super hard to use as a shower gel. It doesn't dissolve or break apart very well so its very hard to smoosh into a loofah and it doesn't lather very well on its own. However it does lather well in hair... that's all I will say about it haha.
Repurchase - no

Bioderma Hydrabio Rich Cream: This was a great simple gentle moisturiser. I found myself reaching for it often along with the serum and they were just really pleasant to use. They are designed for sensitive and dehydrated skin. It isn't cheap (around $40) so I would recommend getting this on sale. I did a review of the range here.
Repurchase - yes

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner: I love this stuff! It is the best body conditioner out there, it smells amazing, and I use it sparingly as a luxurious treat (I would use this every day if it wasn't so expensive). I did a full review here.
Repurchase - definitely!

Suigo Volume Control Absolute Volume Keratin Volumiser Treatment: I really like Suigo as a haircare brand in general, and this hair mask was nice to smooth my hair, but I don't think it volumised as much as it claimed to. I would definitely use it again, but I wouldn't rush out to buy it.
Repurchase - maybe

Seven Wonders Moroccan Aran Oil Dry Shampoo: I didn't mind this dry shampoo and if you have really dry damaged hair then you might want to try it because it contains good oils for your hair. It did provide a white cast, which isn't the end of the world, but I prefer brown tinted dry shampoos.
Repurchase - no

Polished London Dry Shampoo in Blighty Brunette: Speaking of which, this is my preferred dry shampoo! It does a decent job, is brown toned so I don't have to worry about brushing it out, and it costs less than $5. I currently have 3 or 4 of these floating around my house and work bag.
Repurchase - already have!

Goldwell Kerasilk Ultra Rich Keratin Care Conditioner: I really liked this range! It cleaned my hair well, made it soft and provided volume! The only downside was that I used up the conditioner way before the shampoo which always annoys me... I am still using up the shampoo.
Repurchase - yes

John Frieda Precision Foam Colour: I rarely dye my hair but when I do I use this range. The foam makes it so much easier to dye your hair at home without dripping it everywhere!
Repurchase - yes
