Rave Review - Perricone MD Cold Plasma Eye

June 3, 2015

My search for a holy grail eye cream has ended!

I recently bought the Perricone MD Gold Plasma Eye from Mecca Cosmetica and I am obsessed. This retails for a whopping $130 for 15ml in Australia... but trust me, it's worth it!

This eye cream is designed to fix fine lines, puffiness, dark circles, loss of brightness, loss of firmness and loss of hydration. My main eye concerns is that I have started getting fine lines due to loss of hydration so I was excited to see how this was going to work for me.

I have been using this day and night on it's own, but I have also been told that you can use this as more of an eye serum underneath another eye cream if you want to. I occasionally do that (to help use up other eye creams) but I find that this is the only eye cream that I have been wanting to use lately.

This product comes in a big box with all the information about the product (check the Mecca website for a list of the ingredients). Inside is a tiny thick frosted glass gar that feels very heavy and good quality. I accidentally dropped this on the bathroom tiles shortly after I had taken these photos and even though there is a crack in the glass, the packaging is still sturdy and is holding together (luckily). So please remember this is glass and be a lot more careful than I was with it.

The formula is exactly what I look for in an eye cream. It is a thick cream, but you literally need the smallest amount (I barely touch my finger in the product) and it blends and absorbs into the skin very quickly. My biggest pet peeve with eye creams is when they require a lot of blending to absorb into the skin, luckily this one blends in almost instantly. It feels very light on the skin, so it's perfect for both day and night, and it almost has a gel soothing feel.

What I love about this product is that this gave me results in 1-2 applications. My biggest skincare concern these days (besides makeup slippage on my oily skin) is fine lines under my eyes from dehydration. The majority of those fine lines has disappeared in a couple of days and my eye area is absurdly smooth... almost as smooth as paper. I was sceptical whether this was worth the price tag, but I am in love with it! Also since I use a tiny amount, I am confident that this tub will last me probably close to 6 months of twice daily use.

The one downside of this product (besides the price) is that is does have a scent to it that may bother some people. I don't really notice it, but if you are very sensitive to scents then it may annoy you. I have played with other Perricone MD skincare in store and I can assure you that this doesn't smell anywhere as bad as the Blue Plasma products... those. are. horrible! This is definitely sometime that I can deal with and barely notice.

Have you found you holy grail eye cream? Also have you tried any Perricone MD products? What are your recommendations?

  1. Wow, this sounds amazing! I just bought Thalgo Exception Ultime Time Solution for Eyes and Lips to address my fine lines and dark circles (thankfully puffiness is no longer a concern), my first really expensive eye cream, but I've only just started using it. If I don't get results, I'll check out the Perricone Cold Plasma next!

  2. Everytime I see the price tag I just gasp, but if its worth it, then I don't see why you should not invest in your skincare! For now, I'm ok with my origins $39 ginzeng eye cream :)

  3. Wow this sounds like a dream product! I remember watching one of your videos and you were raving about it! I might give it a try one day.

  4. Results after just a couple of applications is a pretty big deal! I'm all for splurging on skin care when the results are that noticeable. Glad you're loving this! :)

  5. Thank you for this lovey review!
    Enjoyed discovering this product!
    Would love to test it.

  6. This sounds so so good but OMG so freaking expensive :(
Does it do anything for dark circles ?
