BAH I did a video of my drugstore haul but I completely forgot to write the blog post! As you can already tell, today I will be sharing my haul of drugstore makeup that I have been buying over the last few weeks (thanks to 40% off makeup at Priceline, 30% off Target, and a random ASOS order).
If you can't be bothered reading about what I got, feel free to hear me ramble below:
I haven't yet tried out all of these products, but I thought I would share them anyway. If anyone wants to see any specific reviews or a FOTD featuring certain product, just let me know in the comments.
From the 40% off Priceline sales I picked up the Face of Australia Face Base Primer. I have heard good things about this primer and have heard a few people compare it to the NARS primer. This primer is more of a lotion formula instead of the silicon consistency that is very popular these days. This retails for around $12 but came down to just over $7 in the sales. I also picked up the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ole' Flamingo. I love these Rouge Edition Velvets, but I can't stand buying them for the $24 that they retail for in Australia. With 40% off they are much more affordable at $14.40 each. I am obsessed with these lip products in general, but I am particularly obsessed with this shade! These have a comfortable velvet finish (almost matte, but not as dry) and this shade is a beautiful bright yellow toned pink that literally lasts 10+ hours. The last thing that I bought from Priceline is the Essence Blush Up in Heat Wave. I bought this after the sales for the full price of $7.15. This is a very pretty hombre blush that fades from bright pink to bright orange (see a photo of the pan later in this post). On first impressions this is quite powdery but is nicely pigmented and gives a really pretty peachy orange flush to the cheeks.
I also picked up three other Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet shades from ASOS before I knew that that Priceline sale was going be on. These retail for $17.50 each on ASOS... so if you have missed a sale and want to save a few dollars this a great place to buy them. I picked up the shades Happy Nude Year (not available in Australia), Peach Club and Personne Ne Rouge. I will try to do a full review of all my Rouge Edition Velvets soon.
Then I went to Target with the lovely Hailey from the blog The Beauty In Life (check out her haul from the day here) and picked up a few NYX and Chi Chi products.
I bought a Chi Chi Cosmetics Baked Eyeshadow in the shade Rock With You which is a really beautiful burgundy plum and is the perfect autumn eyeshadow shade. This contains a large 2g of product and on sale it cost $10.40 (normally $14.95). The quality is really lovely, it is pigmented and blendable.
Then I did some damage at the NYX stand and I picked up three lip products and a gift pack. The lip products are a Jumbo Lipstick Pencil in Pecan (a lovely mauve nude), a Matte Lipstick in Pure Red (a bright yellow based red which reminds me of MAC's Lady Danger) and a Butter Lipstick in Pops (a medium nude your lips but better shade). I am clearly quite into bright reds and mid toned nudes these days. The two nude lip products came down to around $7 each and the matte lipstick was around $9.
Then I picked up an awesome pack that was reduced to $18 and then further reduced to $12.60 with the 30% off sales. This pack contains the Dusk Til Dawn Dream Catcher Palette, a Blush in Pinched (which is similar in colour to NARS Orgasm but has a stronger base colour), an Eye and Eyebrow Pencil in Black, a Le Frou Frou Mascara, a Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake (a nude pinky mauve shade) and an Extra Creamy Lipstick in Snow White (a beautiful dark blue toned pink).
This pack is fantastic value if you want to trial some NYX products. I can give or take the eyeshadows, the eyeliner and mascara... but I LOVE the lip products and blush!
So that's what I have been buying lately!
I think over the Easter long weekend I will use some of these products in an all drugstore FOTD/tutorial.
Let me know what you favourite drugstore product is! x
