Salon Melbourne 2015 happened over the weekend and I thought I would share my haul with you lovely people.
Salon Melbourne is a trade show, similar to IMATS, that has various makeup, nail, tanning, skincare, hair care and general salon products for sale generally for discounted prices. It also has demonstrations and information sessions etc etc.
Aaaanyway, I often go a bit nuts on nail polishes as these types of trade shows because you can get great brands like Orly, OPI, Kester Black and Color Club at very reasonable prices. I hit the Color Club stand pretty hard so I decided to refrain from getting any other nail polishes on the day. Below are the Color Club shades that I bough (I also got a bunch for my sister who was placing phone orders while I was there :P). The holographic shades were $8 each and all the others were $5 each... and if you bought 5 you get a 6th for free! (I think with the few I bought my sister I ended up buying 13 shades!)
The shades I bought are: Miss Bliss, Harp On It, Mrs Robinson, Love Links, Baldwin Blues, Midnight Mulberry and Hot-Hot-Hot Pants
The biggest investment I made was at the Media Makeup Store stand where they were selling Make Up For Ever at 30% off. I had heard rave reviews about the new reformulated eye shadows so I decided to make my own palette. This wasn't cheap, costing around $16ish per shadow plus $10ish for the palette... but the quality is amazing. My only disappointment was that there was a beautiful rusty red/orange matte shade that I was lusting after but it had sold out... the closest shade available was a much more bright orange/tan matte. I still think that this palette would have been killer with that original shade.
In no particular order, the shades I bought were: I606 D708 M726 I544 M534 M546
I will do a full review of this palette soon with swatches.
Then for the misc products...
Makeupnet was selling their last stock of Lime Crime, so I picked up a back up of my favourite pink lipstick, Countessa Fluorescent for $15. I also picked up a few blending brushes and some Model Rock Lashes from the Designer Makeup Tools stand.
That's what I picked up from Salon Melbourne 2015. If you want to see any specific reviews, let me know and I will try to get around to them soon.
Here are some of the photos that I posted on Instagram on the day... ps don't forget to follow me on Instagram @kitschsnich ;)
