Boycott Lime Crime Rant #boycottlimecrime

March 12, 2015

Untitled2

I decided to film an impromptu rant yesterday after I got home from work because I was a little fed up that this Lime Crime issue is being swept under the rug (mainly by Lime Crime). I was also pissed off that a lot of people are defending Lime Crime because they "personally haven't ever experienced bad customer service" from Lime Crime. I think that is a load of bullshit! I personally haven't been scammed or blocked or disrespected by Lime Crime, but I am angry on behalf of all the people who have.

If you have no idea what I am referring to, please watch my video below and please also do your own research and make up your own mind. I would love for this to spark some interesting discussion in a forum where your opinion won't be blocked and deleted.

Rant over.

  1. I don't own any Lime Crime products, but hearing how rude Doe Deere has been to her customers put me right off wanting to buy anything from them. Calling people idiots for buying a $16 lipstick and saying things like "I don't need your money" is more than bitchy -- it's downright unprofessional, and the company is worth boycotting on that alone.

I've seen more and more big blogger/vlogger names also boycott the company and to me that's really bad news for them, so the fact that they don't want to seem to repair their relationship with consumer is worse again. I don't have a business background, so feel free to clarify any mistakes, but to me some of these are people who can afford to pay for -- and may have been willing to buy -- a whole collection of lipsticks, and money like that adds up really quickly whether you "need it" or not. As they say, shit rolls downhill.

Also the associated hashtag #flushyourglitterdowntheshitter is amusing.

  3. I'm so glad I found your post on this - I totally missed this whole issue somehow (where have I been?!). I to have always liked Lime Crime's products - especially their Lip Velvetines. I remember back in the day when I followed Doe Deeres blog (before she started her makeup line) and found some of her opinions to be very harsh (specifically when she was saying that she was open minded etc I should not that it was subtle things she said that got to me, nothing was overt) however I just put it down to having different opinions to her on some issues and that was it. Now it's occurred to me, that what I noticed years ago was in fact her closed mindedness - not the opposite. And now that charming character trait has just gotten worse as she became 'successful'.

I do have a question though - when she said that people were stupid to pay $16 for a lipstick, was she referring to her own lipsticks or MAC? I'm soooo thankful that the last products I bought from Lime Crime were from an Aus e-retailer *phew*
