Hello friends, I thought I would touch base with my Makeup Diet series (check out the first post here). This is pretty much a way for me to target products to use up (or get more use out of) and this is the one month progress post.
Let's start with the products that I have used up! I have finally finished both Revlon Colourstay Foundations in Buff and Natural Beige. I do love these foundations, but it is time to move on and let go. I also finished the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. After finishing up these products I have decided to introduce a couple more products into the mix. I will mention the new products at the end of this post.
I have hit pan on the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Liner in Marry Up and the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation in Sand. I haven't really "hit pan" on the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light, but it is nearly finished. The concealer in Sand has quite a way to go. I will be happy to see the Bobbi Brown powder go, but I have been using the Benefit Cream Shadow 5 or 6 days a week and have become quite attached! It will be a sad day when I use this up.
Speaking of products that I have become quite attached to... I have become a huge fan of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Brunette and will be very sad to see this go. I previously didn't like this eyebrow pencil as it was too thin and was bad at filling in large sections of my brows. I have started using this just to define the top and bottom line of my brows and I have been loving it! I still hate how expensive it is for such a small amount of product, but I surprisingly have become a convert.
Some of the products seem to be never ending... these are the Too Faced Mocha Mi Amore Blush, which I have been using EVERY DAY and have made no dent in the pan, the Lancôme Grandiose Mascara that I have been using for a good 6 months and it is still going strong, and the Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner in Absolute Brown which I have been using a good 4-5 days a week and there is no sign of drying up.
The other products are the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in Granite which I use most days and am still not loving, and the John Plunkett Instant Primer which probably has a couple of weeks usage left.
My worst progress is with the Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish... I keep forgetting to use this (as it's a step that I rarely use and don't see any positive effects with).
Onto the new products that I am throwing into the mix.
To replace the Revlon Colourstay foundations I have decided to throw my Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation into the mix. This was my top foundation of 2013 and that year I did use up two bottles! I think I overdosed a little on it and moved on, so I want to go back and use this bottle up. I have older foundations sitting in my drawer that I should probably target first, but I know that I am a big fan of this foundation and it would be easy to use on a daily basis.
To replace the Korres Lip Butter I have chosen the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey. Once again, this is a very easy product to throw on at work everyday, I love the shade, and I only have a tiny amount left. It's a win win.
I need to also mention the Benefit BrowZings Palette in Light. I was supposed to include this in the first Makeup Diet post, but I totally forgot. This has been the main brow product that I have been using for months and months now, and I have hit some major pan and am now trying to use it up.
Now for a couple of products that I'm not trying to use up, but I am trying to get more use out of them. Firstly, the Tom Ford blush in Flush which I rediscovered while doing my Addicted to Blush Tag. I think because this was expensive I was reluctant to use it too much, but it has been sitting in my drawer for too long and it needs some love! I have also targeted the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in the hopes that it will be like the Anastasia Brow Wiz and after forcing myself to use it often I will go from disliking it to loving it... fingers crossed!
