I have decided to make my own tag! I am notorious for being a bit of a blush hoarder so I thought I will create a tag dedicated to blushes ...and yes, I am aware that there are other blush tags around, but the more the merrier.
What colour blush suits you the most? I am a sucker for a blue toned pink blush, but I actually think rosy nudes suit me the most. Rosy nudes tend to go with any makeup look and are great for work.

Pressed/cream/loose blush? Pressed! I hate using loose blushes! I do have a few but I rarely (and I mean RARELY) use them. I don't mind cream blushes, but I find that they are a little harder to apply evenly and ain't no one got time for that.
Favourite shimmery blush? NARS Luster is probably my individual favourite. I am more inclined to wear shimmery blushes in the warmer months, and Luster gives the perfect peachy gold glow to the skin and I also see this blush as being a blush, contour and highlight in one because it adds colour, definition and shimmer. If I was to pick a favourite shimmery range of blushes, I would probably choose the MAC Mineralize Blush range. They have a lovely formula and they give a beautiful glow to the skin without being glittery.

Favourite matte blush? Hands down I love all Illamasqua matte powder blushers... it is the best matte formula that I have come across (not so keen on their shimmery blushes). These are probably mid range when I comes to price, but they are better than any high end blush that I have come across.

Favourite cream blush? As I said before, I don't tent to reach for these often because they take a little bit more effort to apply... but if I had to pick my favourite out of my limited cream blush collection I would say the Napoleon Cream Blush that I actually got free in a magazine. I love the shade, it applies easily, doesn't lift off any of my foundation and it isn't overly pigmented (so you don't have to blend it in like crazy). In general I am not a huge Napoleon fan but this is the exception. Sadly, I don't actually think they sell these anymore.
Favourite drugstore blush? I don't buy too many blushes from the drugstore (I admit that I am a blush snob)... but probably my favourite brand is Sleek. Their blushes are very affordable, very pigmented and you can get some fun colours. The one downside is that as these are probably too pigmented, so much so that they can be quite difficult to blend or you can end up looking like a clown. I particularly love the shimmery blushes from this range with Rose Gold being my absolute favourite (it's a more pigmented and peach version of NARS Orgasm).
Favourite high end blush? I want to say Illamasqua matte blushes, but at around $35 they aren't super high end. I do think the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes are quite impressive, and although I think their range of shades are limited, the quality and application of the blushes are really nice.

Favourite bright blush? I am a sucker for bright pink blushes and the one that started my obsession is Stila Custom Color Blush in Self Adjusting Pink. I don't necessarily think this blush "adjusts" like it claims, but it is a beautiful blush and it is my favourite bright blush I own (and I own quite a few). I thought I should also mention The Balm Instain Blush range as a runner up. These come in some very bright shades and they are ridiculously pigmented and last all day.

Biggest blush disappointment/regret? I think I have to mention the Bourjois Blushes here. I did own a few, but after looking for them for this tag I've realised that I must have thrown them out in a makeup cull... that's how much I dislike them. They are great to start with, the shade range is quite good (containing matte and shimmery), the packaging is cute, and they even smell nice... but after a few months they become very hard and it's almost impossible to pick up any colour. I don't know if this is because they are baked blushes, but they become almost useless.
Best blush packaging? This is a hard one, but I thought it might be a nice time to mention the Tom Ford Cheek Colour. Now I only have one of these, and to be completely honest I really don't wear this too often. I don't know if I rarely use it because of the shade I chose or because I have been worried to use it too much due to it's price... maybe I should force myself to use it more. Anyway, Tom Fords packaging is always lovely and very high quality, and the blushes are no exception. Definitely the most luxurious blush packaging in my collection.

What's on your blush wish list? I though this question was a must because I know that whenever I do a collection post or a tag dedicated to one type of makeup product, I often get people recommending products I should try. I though I would pre-empt that by saying that Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes have been on my wish list for a long time now, but have always been quite difficult to get in Australia. Now that Sephora is in Sydney I might check them soon. The next blushes that I have been really keen to try are the Makeup Geek Blushes. I know these are much
more affordable and readily available than the Tarte ones but whenever I visit the Makeup Geek site to place an order one of two things happen - the shades I really want are out of stock, or I realise that I want so many shades that it becomes really expensive and I chicken out.
Number 1 holy grail blush? If I had to recommend one blush to someone, it would definitely be Illamasqua Naked Rose! I love the formula, I love the shade and being matte it is very versatile (add a highlighter if you want some shimmer)... it is such a fantastic blush. The only time I wouldn't recommend this is if you have quite dark skin because this could look a little ashy, but there are other great darker matte blushes in the Illamasqua range.
So that's my tag! I encourage anyone who has a blog or a YouTube channel to do this tag! And don't forget to send me the link so I can check out your answers!
