Great news for Australian makeup fans! Mecca Cosmetica has started dropping their prices on some of their makeup (most likely in preparation for the launch of Sephora).

Some examples of the price drops include:
NARS Sheer Glow which is now $59 down from $68
NARS Bronzers are $49 instead of $55
NARS Eyeshadow Duos are $46 down from $55
NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadows are $39 down from $45
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes are $46 down from $50
Hourglass Ambient Lighting are $59 down from $62
By Terry Eye Liners and Lip Liners are now $46 down from $48

etc etc etc

Sure, these aren't the biggest savings in the world, but it's a great start!

What is your favourite product stocked at Mecca?

  1. Wow, I didn't know about this - great news! I'm a sucker for anything from NARS or bareminerals, although I doubt the latter brand will be marked down much given that they are barely more expensive than supermarket brands as it is (saying something given the mark up on cosmetics that exists in Australia). Hopefully they knock a few bucks off lipsticks as well as the eyeshadow duos.

    1. Yeah so far it doesn't look like bareminerals has been marked down... but then again I'm not super familiar with their exact prices. I didn't realise how affordable their eyeshadows are! I might just have to get a quad/duo very soon!

  2. Yaaaay! The Body shop has also reduced their prices which is awesome to see. Do you know if Mecca will be dropping the prices of all their brands, or every product within brands? Because, that would be awesome, haha!

  4. I saw this on the website tonight and did a double take! I agree it's not a huge drop in price but it's a start. I wonder if this is a response to Sephora claiming that they will offer products at American prices? I hope other retailers follow..

    1. I think it is definitely in response to Sephora... especially since it seems like the only brands that they have reduced the prices are brands that are stocked in Sephora!

  5. Ah, just what I need, more incentive to buy cosmetics XP . Without doing the calculations most of those seem to be about 5% to 10% off which isn’t that bad really (now I’ll have to go do those calculation, my mathy brain can’t resist). Thanks for the head up on this.

  6. Oh that is pretty awesome to hear - Sephora, we welcome you with open arms! I would probably grab Nars or Hourglass from Mecca most often, though I do like looking at Sunday Riley too

  7. I saw your post last night and was so excited! It's not much, but seriously... any little bit helps my pockets!

I like that the blushers are now only $39 which makes my heart beat a little bit faster!
