New at the drugstore: July

July 10, 2014

I thought I would do a quick review of some of the new skincare/lip care offerings that have hit the Australian drugstore (aka Priceline) lately.

First up are a couple of new products from Indeed Laboratories. Hydraluron is probably the most popular product from this brand, it is a very popular serum that contains hyaluronic acid that is supposed to be very effective at hydrating the skin. Hydraluron Moisture Jelly is a similar product but the jelly is supposed to provide instant and sustained moisture, while creating a protective layer on the skin.

This moisture jelly comes in a nifty plastic container where you press down the top and it dispenses one applications worth of jelly. I have only been using this for a few days, so I don't know how great it is at hydrating my skin, but so far so good.

For 30ml this retails for $39.99 but is currently on sale at Priceline for $29.99

Another new product from Indeed Laboratories is the Exfoliator Facial Powdered Exfoliator. This is a powdered exfoliator that activates when you mix it with water. This type of gentle exfoliator was made popular by brands like Dermalogica. I have tried a couple of these (including the Dermalogica Microfoliant) and I wasn't a fan, but I actually really love this one! What I like most about it is that it actually foams when it mixes with water (instead of just turning into a watery paste) and I think it does a great job of softening my skin.

This contains 75g of product and retails for $34.99 from Priceline, but is currently on sale for $27.99.

Next is a couple of new offerings from Nivea. There is a new Pure and Natural Olive and Lemon lip balm and a Fruity Shine Peach lip balm. These retail for $4.49, but Nivea products are currently 25% off at Priceline.

Even though the Olive and Lemon one looks green in the tube, it applies clear and has a nice subtle lemon scent (it's my favourite of the two, and my boyfriend has claimed it as his). The Peach has a very artificial peach scent and it also has a very very sheer peach coloured tint to it.

Last but definitely not least, there are a few exciting new offerings from one of my favourite skincare brands, La Roche-Posay. The first is the new improved Effaclar Duo+, which is essentially the old Effaclar Duo with an additional ingredient that helps prevent the marks caused by pimples. I adore Effaclar Duo, so I am super excited to use this new and improved version. This retails for $27.99 for 40ml from Priceline.

They have also just released the exciting new Redermic R, which is an anti-aging retinol treatment designed for sensitive skin. I will no doubt do a full review of this after I have used it for more time. This retails for $59.99 for 30ml from Priceline.

So those are some of the new skincare products that have been released in Australia. Which are you most excited about?

  1. The Indeed Labs products sound exciting! I wanted to try the Dermalogica Microfoliant, but I think I'll go for this one because it's much cheaper and seems nicer :) I'm really excited to get my hands on the Effaclar duo +, I suffer from heaps of acne scarring so every extra bit counts!

  2. Ooh, both of those Indeed products look promising! Such interesting textures :)
