I loved May and I am sad to see it go! It was the month of my birthday, my mums birthday, I went up to Sydney for Talia's birthday, I bought a new car... and it was just an all round fun month. Admittedly, I did spend waaaay to much money in May, but on the up side, it means that this favourites post contains a lot of my exciting new purchases!
Marc Jacobs Daisy: I bought this after finishing a couple of perfumes and realising that I didn't have many perfumes in my collection. Daisy is a fresh floral perfume (that doesn't give me a headache... yay!) and it is really different from all the sweet fragrances I have in my collection. This does smell quite clean and would be a great spring/summer scent or even a first date scent as it would probably appeal to most people. I did a perfume collection video here.
Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins: I got a sample of this night moisturiser from Kit Cosmetics at the start of the month and eventually went back to buy the full tub. This isn't cheap ($59) but you only need a small amount and I noticed that my skin was smoother the morning after I first used this. This does have a strong orange scent, very similar to Cointreau alcohol, so if you don't like strong scented products then you will probably want to give this a miss.
Shanghai Suzy Lipstick in Miss Maxima: I was sent this for review (along with a bright pink shade) and I LOVE them! They only cost $12.95 each and they last really really well (I only reapply once after eating and it lasts all day). The only reason why I chose this particular shade as a favourite is because I have been obsessed with burnt orange lipsticks in May. I did a full review of my two Shanghai Suzy lipsticks here, and a swatch is later in this post.
Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Orange 7: This was the lipstick that sparked my burnt orange obsession! I was after a particular colour and I walked around Myer, David Jones and Priceline swatching all the similar shades and I finally settled on this one. It wasn't cheap, and the Bobbi Brown formula isn't the best lipstick I have ever used, but I love the shade! It is similar to Miss Maxima but it is a bit more muted and creamier. I featured this in my Orange Lipstick Collection post... sadly I did that post right before getting the Shanghai Suzy shade.

NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo: I bought this Duo when I was in Sydney doing a bit of retail therapy with Talia. I was looking at NARS products in Mecca Cosmetics and decided to check out the eyeshadows because I love the formulation of my NARS Narsissit palette, but I feel that it is missing some mid-toned bronze taupe shades (which are my most used shades). This duo contains a gorgeous shimmery bronze/gold/taupe shade and a satin brown/taupe. These are my perfect "nude" shades, as I find frosty light shades do not suit me. I have been wearing these two shades (and only these two shades) ever since I have bought them which is really rare for me! I apply the shimmery shade all over the lid and lower lash line, and the satin shade in the crease and outer corner.
NARS Sin Blush: I also picked up this blush in Sin, which is a soft mauve berry with a hint of gold shimmer. You can apply this lightly for a slight flush, or you can build it up for a bolder look. This has been my go to shade because it is my perfect flush shade for the cooler months. You can check out what else I bought from NARS in my haul post.
Butter London British Racing Green: I don't think this shade suits my colouring, but it is a unique shade and is a great alternative to a dark nail polish in winter. This is a great formula, it very pigmented and long lasting, and it looks exactly like the colour British Racing Green. I got a lot of compliments on this shade.
Scout Cosmetics Nail Lacquer in Just Like Heaven : My go to nude this month was this shade. Its a super nude pink and it can be applied sheerly with two coats or built up with 2+ coats. What I loved most about this polish is that it applied with very little streaks, it was very shiny and gave a gel like finish, and it made your hands look really elegant. I did a review of three of the Scout Cosmetics polishes here.
By Terry Crayon Khol Terrybly in 9 Royal Navy: This shit be cray! I slurged big time in Sydney and bought my first By Terry product which happened to be a $48 eyeliner! I am a huge fan of cobalt blue liner and can never find a liner bright enough or pigmented enough for what I want. When I swatched this, I needed to buy it! It is a super soft, highly pigmented, waterproof liner that feels like you are applying paint from a pencil. I am obsessed with this liner and whenever I wear it I get compliments. I did a full review of this here.
Lady Gaga Fame: When I was buying Marc Jacobs Daisy, I had sprayed myself with a bunch of perfumes and later that day I kept smelling my wrist wondering what I applied... it ended up being the Lady Gaga perfume. I have been avoiding this for the longest time because I am not a Lady Gaga fan and I am not huge on celebrity fragrances... aaanyway I went back and bought this 100ml bottle while it was on sale for $29! It has a nice warm vanilla sweet scent, and my boyfriend thinks I smell like jellybeans when I wear this. It's not super long lasting or sophisticated, but it is a nice warm everyday scent for the cooler months.
I loved May and am sad to see it go! What was your favourite product of May?
