I have been neglecting my empties basket lately, and man has it built up! Since there are so many things in my empties this times, I will give a very very quick review of each product I have used up.I have also filmed an empties video which you can see here.
Dirty Works Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub: I did a full review here of some of the Dirty Works products, but this was by far my favourite product of what I tried. It is a runny scrub that contains a lot of exfoliating particles, so it delivers a harsh but satisfying scrub (which I love). It also smells just like some of the Soap and Glory products, and you can buy them at Coles for under $10. Repurchase: Yes
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cocoa Body Scrub: I have this scrub in both the tub and the new tube form. These scrubs contain shea butter so they feel like a thick body butter that contains crushed up cocoa beans. The formula isn't as harsh or scrubby as I normally like my body scrubs to be, but because the particles don't dissolve, this still does a pretty decent job at exfoliating your body. One of the best parts of this product is the yummy cocoa scent. There isn't too much difference between the tub and the tube formula, it's mainly just a preference of how you like to dispense your scrub, but the tub does contain more product and is thicker in consistency. I did a Palmer's brand focus review here. Repurchase: Yes
Suigo Ultimate Control Shampoo and Conditioner: I bought these from Oz Sale a while ago, so I bought these in a pack (with a hair mask) for pretty cheap. I originally loved these products (and I still do like them) but after having these giant bottles in my shower for months and months and months, I did get sick of them (I need to learn my lesson and only buy smaller bottles!). These are nice affordable salon quality products and I do recommend them. Repurchase: Yes - eventually
Label M Thickening Shampoo: I got this shampoo from Lookfantastic.com and it was pretty good at providing volume, but the scent had a very masculine cologne vibe. I know the scent of a product isn't everything, but it can make or break a product for me, and I wasn't feeling this. Repurchase: No
Tony and Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo: I really liked this dry shampoo, it is pretty heavy duty and is designed to work for up to 2 days. I wash my hair most days, so I generally like to use dry shampoos for a quick refresh or for some volume. My only dislike about this product is that it can leave a white cast (but not as bad as Batiste). I do have a back up of this, but I have since noticed that they come in a brown shade... so I will buy that one from now on. Repurchase: No, because I will get the brown version.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Body Wash: This was a nice thick moisturising body wash that had a soft yummy cocoa scent to it. It is also sulfate and paraben free. Repurchase: Yes
St Ives Green Tea Scrub: This is my all time favourite face scrub and whenever I try a new face scrub I always come back to this one, because no matter how expensive or high end a face scrub is it never beats this green tea one! I have bought at least 7 tubes of this over the years and I will repurchase it soon! I did a full review here. Repurchase: DEFINITELY
Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Daily Gel Cleanser: I am a sucker for cucumber scented skincare, but this gel cleanser was a bit meh. I ended up using it on my body to use it up. Repurchase: Yes
Michael Todd True Organics Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner: When I first bought this I was pretty impressed with it, but the more I used it, the more I thought it was meh. I guess I am never really impressed with toners... if you have any suggestions of a wow toner, please let me know! Repurchase: Eh, probably not
Clarisonic Mia: I did love this, but I put off replacing the head for a while and when I finally did buy one, my Clarisonic stopped holding a charge... and it was just past the warranty period! Disappointing! I did a first impressions review here. Repurchase: No
Happy Skincare Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm: This was my first introduction to cleansing balms. I did enjoy this cleansing balm, it smells good (like fruit juice), it makes my skin feel really soft, but it didn't take my makeup off very well. I ended up using this as my morning cleanser and I would consider repurchasing it, but I want to try some other cleansing balms first. I did a full review here. Repurchase: Yes
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Extreme Fluid: This is a thin sunscreen that provides SPF 50+ and it doesn't make you feel greasy or gross during the day. I am big on using sunscreen every day, so I need to make sure my doesn't change how my makeup sits. This did work really well but I found that it sometimes clashed with skincare and could make certain moisturisers ball up. If this works with your skincare, it is great, but if it doesn't, it's bad. I think I have figured it what it works with so I did buy another one, but I am also trying the Melt In Cream version which seems to work better with skincare. I did a review here. Repurchase: Already have
Lush American Cream Double Strength Conditioner: This is a conditioner that has an amazing vanilla/baby powder scent to it, and the scent actually lasts in your hair! The only thing I didn't like was that it was quite waxy feeling and my hair tended to feel more limp when I used it. I wish this scent came in a lighter formula. This would work better on people who have longer hair/damaged ends. Repurchase: Maybe when I have longer hair
Lush Dirty Spingwash Shower Gel: I love love love love love this shower gel! It has a really fresh minty scent that smells like breath mints. This is one of my favourite shower gel scents by Lush. Repurchase: Definitely
Lush Sikkim Girls Body Lotion: This was part of the Christmas collection and it was a lovely thick, but silky smooth body lotion that had a very earthy scent to it. Repurchase: Yes
Enbacci Rejuvenating Essential Creme and Gel Cleanser: It was a sad day when I use up these products. This is a three step skincare system that's very pricey. The moisturiser was very light but lovely to use and the gel cleaner was fresh and didn't strip my skin. They had lovely fresh scents and they contain grape stem cells that contain anti-oxidants. I would buy these in a heart beat if they weren't so expensive! Also I finished the moisturiser up a good month before I used up the cleanser and I still have the toner on my sink, so this three step gets used up at a different rate, which is a little annoying. To check out more about this range, and the prices, check out my review here. Repurchase: Yes
Paul Brown Hawaii Hapuna Argan Oil Finishing Shine Serum: I really enjoyed this hair oil, it didn't weight down my hair and it created a nice shine. I would consider buying another one, but I promised myself that I would splurge and buy a Moroccan Oil hair oil when I have my hair oils (which I have now done! YAY!). I did a full review here. Repurchase: Yes
Eco Care Facial Cleansing Wipes Organic Rose with Chamomile: Even though I am not a huge face wipe fan, I somehow managed to go through two full packets and two travel packs recently. This is the only pack of wipes that have impressed me recently; they are alcohol free, free from all the nasties, biodegradable etc and they actually remove makeup quite effectively! I did a full review here. Repurchase: Already have, and also the Apple and Honey version :P
Palmer's Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes: These were ok. They were pretty wet, which was good because they didn't dry out. I mainly used these to wipe my hands when I was doing my makeup. Repurchase: Na
Wotnot Facial Wipes: I got these in a subscription box and had them in my handbag for any occasions where I needed to clean swatches off my hand in shops etc. Repurchase: No
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes: Same as above. Repurchase: No
Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator: I didn't like this, and to be honest, there is still some left in the tube. It is a clear gel that contains sparse exfoliating particles that barely does anything. Repurchase: No
L'Occitane Cooling Hand Gel with Organic Verbena Extract: The more I think about this hand cream, the more I hate it. I have had this for ages, and have only recently made an intentional attempt to finish it. It is a cooling hand cream that dries to a powder finish and smells like verbena (win, win). It's good in theory, but because it has a powder finish, it never makes you feel like your hands are moisturised... your hands go from being dry to being dry. Very unsatisfying. Repurchase: No
One Skin System Active C Scrub: This is a powder scrub, similar to the Dermalogica Microfoliant. The only thing this one has over the Dermalogica version, is that it does contain exfoliating particles so it acts as a physical scrub, instead of just being a watery chemical exfoliant paste. It's messy, it didn't smell very nice, it isn't cheap, and I ended up using it as a body scrub to finish it up (it worked great as a body scrub mind you). Repurchase: No
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation: I love love love this foundation and this is my second bottle I have gone through in less than 12 months, and I am onto my 3rd bottle. I have gone off this recently (sometimes you need a break from things you love) but it is one of my top foundations. It is long wearing, good coverage, has a nice matte finish, and is very affordable... definitely my pick for a long wearing foundation or a foundation for people with oilier skin. I did a full review here. Repurchase: Already have
DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom: I love this perfume, it is a fresh, floral, sweet perfume that doesn't give me a headache (unlike strong floral scents) and I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I wear this a lot in the warmer months because it is quite light and fresh. I did a fill review here. Repurchase: Already have
Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder in Deep Natural: I love this powder! I hear it is a dupe for the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural Powders, but it costs $11.40 instead of $47. This only comes in 3 shades, so if you can find one in your shade, you should give it a try. When I see these on sale I always pick up a couple. Repurchase: Already have bought another 2!
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer: This is a gel silicon primer that does a good job at mattifying your skin. I think these have been discontinued in Priceline. I picked up two when they were in the bargain bin for $5 each. Repurchase: Already have... but probably won't be able to in the future
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer: Even though this is a sample, I decided to include it in the post because it is a very high end sample. This is a nice primer, but personally I don't get the hype. This did potentially make my skin smoother and made my foundation apply better... but it didn't make my foundation last longer, which is the main reason I use primers. I would never pay $79 for the full size! Repurchase: No
Saucebox Mascara: You tend to get these mascaras when you buy a Saucebox eyeshadow palette (which I get from Lipstick Republic). This is a pretty decent mascara that has a plastic spiky wand and creates a nice amount of volume without getting clumpy. I would consider repurchasing this, but I don't think you can buy it individually. Repurchase: Yes
Benefit They're Real Mascara: Even though this is a super hyped up mascara, the sample didn't impress me! Sure it was ok... but nothing to rave about! Repurchase: Eh, maybe if I was ordering from the US Benefit site
La Belladonna Liquid Eye Liner in Brown: I got this liner in a Wantable box a couple of months ago and I have only used it a hand full of times and it has dried out! Not cool! Repurchase: No!
Thank you for reading all about my rubbish! Let me know if you have tried an of these products, and what you thought of them!
