Brand Focus: Dirty Works

I was recently send a variety of products from the brand Dirty Works... and I know that I have been featuring a lot of products that I have been sent lately (sorry!), I just haven't had much time to buy many new things. I am however giving these reviews my complete honest opinion.

You might look at these products and think "they look similar to Soap and Glory products".

These products do have very similar designs to Soap and Glory, and even though this brand doesn't claim to be a Soap and Glory dupe... that is clearly what they are aiming to be. This is also a UK brand, and the products in the blue packaging have a very similar scent to the iconic Soap and Glory "Original Pink" scent. Now, it is not exactly the same scent, but the similarities are uncanny.

Now, you might be thinking, "why would I buy these Dirty Works products if there are Soap and Glory ones available?" Well the answer is because each of these products retail for less than $10 each (unlike Soap and Glory which retail for $15-25) and because these are much more easily available, as they are sold at Coles.

I was sent the Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub, You Soft Touch Hand Cream, That Fiji Feeling Coconut Body Butter, Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub, and the Supreme Cream Body Butter.

My favourites of the bunch are the Glow Girl Butters Salt Scrub, which is a really scrubby body scrub, and the You Soft Touch Hand Cream, which is a strong scented hand cream but it soaks into your hands really nicely and doesn't feel greasy.

The body butters and nice and thick, but they are basic body butters and they don't feel super luxurious. I like the Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub packaging, as it is in a tube, but it isn't as scrubby as the one in the tub.

So over all what do I think?

I think these are affordable basic skincare products with cute packaging and a scent that is virtually identical to Soap and Glory (except for the coconut range). I do think that the Soap and Glory range is a bit more luxurious, but if you don't like the price tag that comes with their products, then these are a good alternative.

I feel bad constantly comparing Dirty Works to Soap and Glory, as they should be reviewed in their own right, but when a brand is clearly trying to be the cheaper alternative to Soap and Glory, it's hard not to compare them!

I personally would be more than happy to repurchase the Dirty Works Glow Girl Butters Salt Scrub and the Dirty Works You Soft Touch Hand Cream, because these are products that I go through pretty quickly and I thought these were both really decent products, but I prefer to use more luxurious body butters ,and am happy to spend the money for them.

That's it! Have you tried this brand? What do you think?

  1. I've tried a few Dirty Works products, and I've been pretty happy with them. The headend cream is lovely, and I adore the coconut body scrub.

  5. I've tried both scrubs- the tube and the tub- and I prefer the tub too! It has a really fluffy cream base and I got more uses out of it for my money's worth.
