Lust Have It March 2014

April 2, 2014

I opened a small package (around the size of my hand) on Friday and I had no idea that I was opening my March Lust Have It box... but hey, at least it arrived in March.

This is clearly missing the box of the subscription box, but I know LHI are introducing a new box design, and they must have run out of old boxes. This retails for $19.95 per month (you can use the code KITSCH for $5 off your first box).

I also did an opening for this "box" so check that out below

Above is the information card with the 6 items that comes in this months box. There is a slight mistake with the Klara product name...  for your information this is a Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips long lasting lipstick. You can see that this month's box is more makeup based, and the two full size products are the Bloom concealer kit and the strawberry Chapstick.

Bloom Secret Weapon Concealer Kit in the shade Medium/Dark - full size: This is clearly the bulk of the value of the box, and the information card says that this retails for $20. This concealer kit is in the shade has 6 shades; a yellow for cancelling out purple shades under the eyes, a green for cancelling out red, a shimmery highlight shade for highlighting brow bones and cheeks, and three other shades to mix.

The shades are nice and creamy, but they aren't as pigmented as what I like to normally use. The two dark shades are unusable for me, as they are way too dark, but also too yellow toned to use as a cream contour. The shimmery shade is odd to have in a concealer palette and it barely shows up on the skin. I will try to get some use of the lighter concealer shade and maybe the colour correcting shades. The colour correcting shades do have great pigmentation and I don't actually own any correcting concealers, so I am happy to play around with these.

yellow, light concealer, dark concealer, green, highlight, medium concealer

Orly mini nail lacquer in Gogo - mini size: I actually haven't tried an Orly nail polish before, so I am very interested in seeing how this lasts. This shade isn't my favourite, it is a white (which I like) but it also has silver sparkles in it which makes this look a little childish. I normally don't mind sparkly nail polish, but for some reason I don't really like this one. This is also very very sheer to apply and you will probably need 3 coats to make it opaque. Even though I would have prefered a different shade, I do really like the addition of an Orly nail polish.

Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips in the shade 5 - deluxe sample: I won't be opening this because I received the same sample from Salon Melbourne (see my haul here). I have already used my one and this is a liquid lipstick that dries matte and it reminds me a lot of the Lime Crime Velvetines (but these contain more product, have a bigger range of shades, and are Australian). I love this shade, it is a perfect bombshell red, and since you only need the smallest amount of product, this sample should last quite a long time. Since I already have this, I will have to give it away.

Chapstick Strawberry Lip Balm - full size: I am actually quite excited to get this! I haven't used this lip balm since I was in high school and it brings back so many memories. This a decent basic lip balm that has a great strawberry scent.

Aveda Intensive Hydrating Masque - 7ml sample: I have has this mask before from LHI, along with many other Aveda products. I am getting a tad over them :P

Recoverlyte - 1 sachet: I actually don't mind trying these types of products out, because I probably wouldn't buy them without trying them first. This is designed to rehydrate you after a late night out. I will have to hold on to this for when I go out next.

Overall, this is a pretty light box this month. I don't mind the products but I am not overly impressed and I don't think this box is great value for money.

Did you get this "box"? What did you think?

Check out my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush giveaway!

  1. i got a slight variation of this box. mine had a human tested lip balm instead of the chapstick, and my concealer was fair/medium. I'm happy with it, it doesn't blow my mind, but it is at least worth the money paid and included plenty of make up

  2. It's not that much bad....the picks are good, atleast worth the money paid....xoxoxo....^_^

  3. The Aveda sample is a face mask. I was a bit concerned when I read your comment that I had put a hair mask on my face ha ha

    1. Derp! And I have used it as a face mask before too! Thanks for that!

  4. The KLARA kiss proof stuff looks very pigmented; tutorial soon?

  5. Tried the KITSCH coupon but it didn't work. I wanted to try LushHaveIt, but, oh well.

    1. I have emailed them about it... thanks for letting me know!

  6. I didn't realise we could choose so I got sent a brown eyeliner, which is actually really good (soft, pigmented, great staying power) and I got a gatineau face scrub not the chapstick, but wouldn't have minded either. I did receive a CLEAR orly nail polish, and was like....ok, I mean I didn't hate the box by any means but was just puzzled why they are throwing in such weird polishes from Orly...
