Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask

December 17, 2013

I had heard so many good things about the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, and a few months ago I was in Kit Cosmetics and I took the plunge and bought it. This retails for $34 at Kit Cosmetics.

I have oily combination skin, but I have realised over the years that the more hydrated I keep my skin, the less oil my skin produces. I also find that my skin can be quite dehydrated (note to self: drink more water!) and I can get the occasional dry patches. I am pretty bad at remembering to apply hydrating masks, so I thought this would be a great mask to have because you wear it overnight and you don't have to worry about wearing a mask for 10min and having to rinse it off (I know, that doesn't actually sound all that difficult to do, but I always forget!).

The packaging is pretty basic, it is in a bright green tube (easy to spot in your skincare cupboard) and the tube allows for easy dispensing without any mess. I also quite like the Origins logo and packaging design, it looks quite basic but doesn't seem cheap or nasty.

I apply this mask every other day instead of my night moisturiser. It applies like a moisturiser but instead of it sinking completely into your skin, it does leave a slight tackiness. This tacky feel isn't annoying and doesn't get on your pillows, but you can tell that there is something on your skin when you touch your face. I like the tackiness because it makes me feel as though the mask is still on my skin. This mask also smells amazing, it's strong fruity scent that I love! In the morning you can't feel it on your skin, but it does leave your skin feeling nice and plump and any dry spots are gone. I then wash this off when I am doing my usual morning cleanse.

If you are like me and you want to use a hydrating mask but you often forget to take the time out of your day to apply them, this is a great option because you apply it just like a night moisturiser.

Have you tried this mask? What did you think?

Also don't forget to enter my Christmas Giveaway which closes this week!

  1. I haven't tried this, but I've tried their other moisturising mask and I LOVE it. I'll definitely try this one next time because I'm curious to try it for myself x

  3. I've been so curious about this, as my skin type is much like yours- combination/oily, acne-prone, but also prone to dehydration in the winter. Thanks for the review! :)
