September 2013 Favourites

October 6, 2013

Argh! I almost forgot to do my favourites post this month! It's finally Spring but I am still waiting for the weather to get warm... come on Melbourne, lift your game! I have has a pretty good month, I have been going out a lot, trying out products, and I went to IMATS! These are my top products of the month:

Besame Cosmetics Lipstick in Exotic Pink: I got my very first Wantable box this month (see post here) and I was very impressed with the contents! One of my favourite products that I instantly fell in love with is the Besame lipstick. This lipstick is amazing! It is super pigmented, is really comfortable to wear, and it lasts hours and hours and hours! I must keep an eye out for more of these lipsticks. See swatch later in this post to see what one swipe of this lipstick looks like.

Stila Sun Bronzing Powder in shade 01: I have been fake tanning a bit this month and to make my foundation match the rest of my body I have been going nuts with the bronzer. This is my bronzer of choice because it is matte, it is not too dark, and it is not too orange. I use this to both contour and to warm up my complexion, and what I love so much about it is that it is quite light so I can go quite heavy handed without looking crazy, and I can build it up where I want to. Love it and I have made a very large dent in it this month! See my review here.

Bit Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Tangelo: I got this lipstick from Lipstick Republic and I instantly loved it. It is a really nice coral orange shade and it has balm running through the center of the lipstick, so it is very moisturising. I love the colour, I love how it feels, and I love that you can build it up to get a good amount of colour. This is my go to every day lip colour.  See swatches below.

Before I move on I just wanted to point out how amazing the Besame lipstick is, the swatch above is ONE swipe. The Bite Beauty lipstick is also one swipe, but it can be built up.

Ben Nye Essentials Eye Shadow Palette: I bought this at IMATS and I have worn these eyeshadows or the Inglot eyeshadows every single day since buying them. This is a really nice matte neutral palette and the quality of the shadows are really nice. The only weird thing is that they smell like paint. I will review this soon with swatches.

Inglot Eyeshadow Freedom Palettes: If I am not wearing the Ben Nye eyeshadows, I am wearing these. These are amazing quality and I am so glad that I finally bit the bullet and bought some Inglot shadows at IMATS. I will also need to swatch these asap.

La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50+ Extreme Fluid: I bought this when Priceline was having 40% off skincare, so normally this is $35ish but I bought this for under $20. I have started wearing sunscreen everyday and the two that I feel comfortable wearing without feeling greasy is the Invisible Zinc Environmental Protector and this one by La Roche Posay. This sunscreen is very runny, but it is thin and I don't notice that I am wearing it. It also has UVA and UVB SPF 50+ so hopefully my skin will thank me in a few years.

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner: I got this when I went to a Lush blogger event, and this is now one of my favourite Lush products. This makes my skin feel amazing and it smells amazing, it smells like a rose custard (hard to explain, but it smells goood!). You apply a body conditioner in the shower after you wash your body, then rinse it off and it leaves your skin feeling moisturised. I love the scent, I love the way it makes my skin feel, and it is just a really luxurious product. I will do a comparison with the Nivea one soon.

Diaso Detergent for Puff and Sponge: I discovered this brush/sponge cleaner this month and I am obsessed! It only costs $2.80 and it cleans brushes and beauty blenders like nothing I have ever used. I have read that this is pretty harsh on natural fiber brushes, but its fine for synthetic. This has made my brush cleaning so quick and simple, I will never put off cleaning my brushes now! See my review here.

Summer Tan Dark Self Action Tan: I mentioned previously that I have been tanning a bit this month and this is my favourite tanning product. It applies quite dark and slightly green toned, but it gives such a nice natural tan. This looks amazing, it doesn't transfer onto clothes and it doesn't smell like fake tan! You do need to use a tanning mitt because it stains hands quickly and this does wear off really quickly (lasts 2-3 days) but at least you don't end up looking patchy and orange. See full review here.

So that's it! Those are my favourites for September and this is my 400th blog post :O
