So after receiving a really impressing Wantable box last month (see post here), I caved and subscribed :P
This is a US subscription box that ships to the US, Canada and Australia... so finally this is a subscription box post that might be interesting to a wider group of readers!
This isn't cheap, it retails for $40 for a one off box or $36 for a monthly subscription. They also charge shipping of $9 to Australia. The good thing about this box is that they claim to contain $80 of value in each box (and that is US prices) and you get to customise your box by saying which items you love, like, and dislike... and they will never send you a product that you list as dislike. See my first Wantable post for more detail about this process.
I received 5 full size products and one sample in my box this month.
Michael Marcus Polish in Paint The Town Red - retail price $15: This is a strange shaped nail polish, and the shade is pretty but its a typical pink toned red and I received a very similar shade of nail polish in my last box. Nevertheless, I have heard that this is a great quality nail polish.
Be A Bombshell Blush in Blind Date - retail price $16: I love blush, and I have never tried this brand before but I have seen their blushes reviewed on blogs. I love this shade, it is a very pretty pigmented coral shade with a slight shimmer (see swatch below). This is what I wanted NARS Orgasm to be like, but Orgasm isn't as pigmented as this blush.
Cailyn Cosmetics Gel Luxe Eyebrow in Cocoa - retail price $22: This is probably the one thing in the box that I am a little underwhelmed about. The product itself if quite good, it is a nice dry gel product that is quite cool toned (perfect for brows), but I think what lets it down in the bulky cheap unnecessary packaging. The packaging contains a flimsy angle brush (that I probably won't ever use) and I would have preferred to just have the gel in a small good quality jar. See swatch of the brow gel below.
Besame Cosmetics Classic Color Lipstick in Nior Red - retail price $22: I received a pink version of this lipstick in my last box and I adore it! The formula is creamy, has a semi matte finish, and lasts for hours. I have looked for these in Australia and they are much more expensive than $22 (more like $40+) so I was super happy to see another one of these lipsticks. This shade is a little intimidating, it is a very very dark berry red, which is similar to a lipstick version of the OCC Lip Tar in Black Dalia. I do love these kinds of shades, and I will wear it, but unlike the pink I received last month, this won't be an everyday shade. See a one swipe swatch below and also a lip swatch.
Japonesque Travel Smudger Brush - retail price $14.50: I am not a big fan of travel size brushes because I keep my brushes in various mugs, and I find brushes with short handles get lost amongst the others. Other than that, this brush looks really nice, I love the shape of it... it will be perfect for applying eyeshadow to the lower lash line and also smudging out eyeliner.
Skiin Soothing and Smoothing Eye Cream Sample: I have never heard of this skincare brand, but I am big into eye creams lately, so I am keen to try this out.
So that's it! Adding up the retail prices of these items, this box is worth $89.50!
