10 Products I Would Repurchase

October 16, 2013

I did a video the other day based on that "10 products I would repurchase tag" that was going around a few months ago... so pretty much the point of the tag was that if you lost all of your makeup, what 10 products would you repurchase first? I chose my 10, and then I mentioned another 2 products to pretty much cover every makeup category. The only category that I missed out on was primers.

So these are the products that I would repurchase if I woke up tomorrow and someone had stolen my makeup collection. I will also link my video at the end of this post.

In no particular order...

1. Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin in Light: I have oily skin so I love base products that have a matte finish (because let's face it, it will end up looking dewy within a few hours). This isn't my favourite base product of all time, but what I love about it is that it is very versatile - you can sheer it out to a natural finish, or you can built it up to look like foundation. It also feels very weightless on the skin.

2. Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder in shade 52 Vanilla: I love this powder, it is very finely milled and it provides a nice amount of coverage. The only thing to note is that you need to buy it in a shade lighter than your skin tone because it does oxidise.

3. Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Naked Rose: I have mentioned this about 100 times on my blog. I love Illamasqua blushes because they are really finely milled and apply beautifully. I adore this shade because it is a nice everyday pink and it goes with pretty much 95% of makeup looks.

4. NARS Bronzer in Laguna: This is a great bronzer/contour shade as it is a nice warm toned brown but it doesn't apply orange. It contains a little bit of shimmer but it doesn't look too shimmery on the skin, so you can use it for contouring. I love this as a bronzer and a contour.

5. Ben Nye Essential Eyeshadow Palette: I was umming and ahhing about which palette I would repurchase, and I decided that it would be this one by Ben Nye. The reason why I picked this was because it is a matte neutral palette that you can use to create most eye looks (and eyebrows!). I would like a shimmery shade or two as well, but I don't have one palette that contains everything I want (besides my Z-palette). I would always use these shadows with a eyeshadow primer, but I guess an eyeshadow primer and some shimmery shades would have to be the 13th and 14th product I would repurchase if I lost all of my makeup.

6. MAC Fluidline in Blacktracks: I adore gel liners! I find that you get a nice bold eyeliner look but it is easier to use, it isn't as messy, and it doesn't look as harsh and severe as liquid eyeliner... oh and you can smudge it out easier! This is by far my favourite gel liner as it doesn't budge once set, it has a semi-matte finish, and it lasts ages.

7. Any Maybelline mascara: I can't leave home without mascara so I would have to include it in my top 10 product I would repurchase. I'm not too picky about which mascara I use, and I also don't like spending too much money on them, so I would repurchase any Maybelline mascaras as they rarely let me down.

8. Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine: This is my favourite lip balm, and when I am not wearing lipstick I tend to just wear a balm. This feels great, isn't sticky and smells amazing!

9. MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger: I need to have at least one bright shade of lipstick and a big favourite is Lady Danger by MAC. It is a bright orange toned red that has a semi-matte finish. It lasts hours on the lips and is really comfortable and pigmented.

10. Real Techniques brushes: If I lost all of my brushes, I would straight away invest in some more Reach Techniques brushes. They are some of my most reached for brushes and I would repurchase them in a heart beat!

And now for the two bonus products...

11. OCC Skin Conceal in Y1: I do rely quite heavily on concealer, but concealer didn't make it into my top 10 because I could theoretically just use more foundation to cover flaws. I do love the OCC Skin Conceal because it is quite firm but also pigmented so I can use it on blemishes or under the eyes.

12. MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft And Gentle: If I had to pick one highlighter to repurchase it would be this one because the shade is so pretty and versatile. It is a nice champagne nude shade, so you can use it with pretty much any makeup look. This is also very pigmented and long lasting and you can use this as an inner corner highlight.

So those are the products I would repurchase first if I lost my makeup collection *knock wood*. What would your repurchase if you had to start your makeup collection again?

  1. Great picks! Everything looks beautiful! x

  2. I personally don't like the Garnier BB cream because it contains alcohol but I agree it gives a lovely finish and versatile coverage x x

  3. I really want to buy the Real Techniques brushes and I love the Maybelline Volume Express The Falsies Mascara. It looks so pretty on! :) I highly recommend it :)

  4. Been meaning to get an Illamasqua blush for a very long time now. I definitely will... soon! I'd be devastated if I lost all my makeup (it's quite a big collection). The first thing that comes to mind is my Urban Decay Naked Palette. But then, it might be an opportunity to try other different products.

  5. Some amazing picks! I love the RT brushes too, they're so amazing, great quality and super soft. I agree, Maybelline mascara are amazing, definitely the best drug store ones!

  6. Love your picks and this tag too! I completely agree with you on the illamasqua blushes, maybelline mascaras and RT brushes!
Although the MAC gel liners never last on me ;c I prefer the Bobbi Brown one!
