I heart Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector

July 30, 2013

It's about time I review this wonderful wonderful product!

I want to start by saying that I hate sunscreen! I have never liked wearing sunscreen, and I normally only wear it when I go to the beach or go to a music festival. Sunscreen makes my skin really greasy, I look horrible, and I start breaking out.

I discovered this Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector SPF 30+ UVA and UVB a few years ago when I was working outdoors and I was getting sunburnt if I didn't reapply sunscreen at least 4 times during the day. I decided to buy this as a desperate measure, and I found that I only had to apply this in the morning and I didn't get burnt all day! When I was working outdoors I never really wore makeup, so I never knew how this worked with foundation. When I stopped working outdoors, I put this away and only brought it out for the beach/music festival occasions.

On a whim I decided to this Invisible Zinc Skin Protector under my foundation one day... and I was amazed to realise that this didn't leave my skin feeling greasy or clogged, instead it didn't have any effect on the appearance of my skin or makeup at all!... and no break outs! Since realising this, I have been adding this to my daily skin routine. I apply my rosehip oil, my moisturiser, the Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector (sometimes over the moisturiser, sometimes mixed with the moisturiser), and then my makeup.

So I am sure that all of you are aware of the benefits of a sunscreen (prevents aging etc), but this is a mineral sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB, and also acts as an anti-pollution film. This is also cruelty free and Australian made.

This contains 50ml of product, and it's not cheap... you can get it from Priceline for $37.99 or from Chemist Warehouse for $29.99. I must say, you only need a very small amount, and this tube will easily last me 6+ months.

This has a pump dispenser and I only use about half a pump for one application.

The photos below show how this sunscreen blends into the skin. I find that if you apply a lot, then it can leave a temporary white cast, but it does generally blend in very well. This is a very light weight sunscreen, and even though it will leave your skin with a slight sheen, once you apply makeup and powder etc, you can't notice that you are wearing sunscreen at all.

Overall I adore this sunscreen, it is officially the only sunscreen that I can work in my daily routine without any hassle. I now wear this every day, I even use this if my moisturiser contains SPF, and I feel as though I am doing something good for my skin whenever I apply it. This is definitely worth the $30 price tag!

Do you apply sunscreen everyday?

  1. Wow, this sounds perfect and so much my alley! My skin breaks out and gets greasy so easily from sunscreen, so this one sounds perfect! Thanks for the review :)

  2. I have this waiting to be used! I'm excited because you raved about it in a favourites (I think) it sounds great!

    1. haha yeah I did mention it in my favourites a few months ago :)

  3. I use a moisturiser that has sunscreen in it every day, all year round. {Orly I think?} I hate most sunscreens as I end up looking SO greasy! I have tried an Invisible Zinc product before but I'm not sure if it was this one or not... looks like it soaks in nicely. I do know that I tried a tinted one, it was greasy and I was shiney :)
    thanks for the review

    1. Invisible zinc also has a normal sunscreen in a very similar packaging... That one might be greasy. I haven't used the tinted one yet
      Thanks for the comment :)

  4. Hello Kat! I have the same problems as you do with sunscreen, but I wanted to know about the scent of this product? Does it smell like regular sunscreen? Thank you c:
