June 2013 Favourites

June 28, 2013

I can't believe half of the year has gone! I can't wait to do my tax return so I can free up some more spending money :P

I loved a lot of products this month, but I decided to narrow this post down to the products that I consistently loved all month. I also did a video for my June favourites, and I mentioned a beauty fail and also some of my random favourites. If you want to check those out, then watch the video below, otherwise keep reading to learn more about my June beauty favourites!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation : This is the stand out product of the month! I got this about three weeks ago, and I have been reaching for this pretty much every day. I have oily combination skin, and usually foundation either becomes quite oily after a few hours, or it starts to wear off my face. I love long lasting matte foundations because they tend to last the best on my skin. This foundation is a long lasting matte foundation that gives a medium-full coverage, and I can go all day without worrying about needing to powder this foundation, and it doesn't look cakey. I bought this on sale for around $13, but it is usually around $19-20 and it is much better than the much more expensive Estee Lauder Double Wear (which ends up looking cakey and also makes me break out), and also the Revlon Colour Stay (which doesn't provide as much coverage and ends up feeling quite tacky after a few hours). I recommend anyone who has oily skin.

Saucebox Single Eyeshadow in Oh La-La and Stila Custom Colour Blush in Self Adjusting Pink: I lump these into the same category because I have been loving bright pink blushes in general this month. I love these bright blue toned pink blushes in cooler months because they give a nice flush to the cheeks, and it really suits pale skin. The Stila blush is one of my all time favourite blushes, and I only recently bought the Saucebox eyeshadow (see review here). See swatches below

Tigi Catwalk Session Series Hairspray: I have been really lazy with styling my hair this month, and generally all I like to do is wash my hair (or use dry shampoo) and then spray some hairspray to keep it from looking fluffy. Normally I'm not fussed about hairspray, but this one smells soooo good! It is like spraying a Brittney Spears perfume in your hair... which might not appeal to some people, but I personally love having hair that smells nice, so this is a great hairspray for me!

Nivea Pure Effect Clean Deeper Daily Face Scrub: This is a gel cleanser with a few exfoliating beads, and its designed for oily skin. What I love about this cleanser is that it cleans well, doesn't strip your skin, it isn't harsh, it smells really clean, and it is really affordable! A great basic cleaner!

One Skin System Vital Night Regenerate: Unlike the above skincare product, this one isn't as affordable. This costs around $80, but I bought it on sale for $20! This is an Australian organic skincare range, and this Night Regenerate is actually a night oil, which I apply under my moisturiser. This stuff smells really weird, like fresh cut parsley (which you get used to), but it works really well. Since using this, my skin is noticeably smoother and I have been having a really great skin month this month.

Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine: This is my all time favourite lip balm, and I use it before bed every night. It is nice and thick, really moisturising, and its smells really nice - like a soft caramel/toffee scent. The reason why this is in my favourites this month is because I have nearly finished this tub, and so I have been using this really sparingly because I will be heart broken when this finishes! I will need to buy a back up ASAP! I love this lip balm!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic and Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Brick Wall: These have been my go to nail polishes this month, as they are great for cooler weather. These suit the gloomy Melbourne weather, and looks great with jackets, beanies, scarves, and all those winter accessories. These are also great work appropriate shades. I bought both of these half price during the half price Chemist Warehouse sales.

So that's it! Another month down, and another month closer to Christmas *groan*

  3. I just purchased Commander in Chic and I love it! It's perfect for the winter months. I've seen the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation around quite a few blogs now and all have great things to say, will have to check it out!

    1. Commander in Chic is such a perfect shade! If you have skin that is oily or leans on the oily side of normal, then you will love it!

  4. omg I LOVE the Covergirl foundation!!! <3
And I really want to pick up a Korres lip butter.

  5. The lip butter sounds so good :)

  6. I need those blushes. They look gorgeous :)

  7. I love the smell of the Tigi Hairspray too, although my nozzle stopped working and I had to toss at least half a can :(
The brown polishes look really nice :)

    1. Thats such a shame! I hope that doesn't happen to mine.

  8. awesome post,love the colors :)

  9. I bought the CoverGirl foundation on sale as well for $13 - except it was so hard to pick my shade. Mine is too light so I need to mix it with a darker foundation. It would be perfect if there was exactly my shade. Commander in Chic is one of my favourite polishes!

  10. The nivea daily scrub sounds great! Great post :)
