It's favourites time! I have been buying trying a lot of new things this month but oddly enough I have been loving some old favourites this month... maybe because I have had so many new things, that I haven't really been able to use each thing enough to really love them yet. I have also been loving life in general this month, it was my birthday, I went to Japan, it was my mums birthday and I got accepted into a training program for next semester - woot woot! Aaaanyway, onto the favourites.
Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin in the shade Light mixed with Revlon Age Defying concealer in the shade Medium: This is an old favourite, and I think I stopped using it to start using up some half finished foundation, but I brought this overseas so I have rediscovered my love for it. I brought this traveling because it is really light weight and comfortable to wear, and it leaves my skin matte all day without needing to touch it up. I have had periods of bad skin this month, so I started mixing this with a bit of Revlon Age Defying concealer, and I have been loving the combination! Mixed with concealer, this BB Cream is still light weight and matte, but gives a bit more coverage and is the perfect base for my skin. I know most people don't want to waste their concealer this way, but I am trying to use this concealer up so it doesn't bother me. Once I use it up I might start mixing a heavier coverage foundation with this BB Cream. See original review of this BB Cream here.
Bourjois Eyeshadow in the shade 08: I have been loving this eyeshadow this month! I bought this in a pack a while ago (see post here) and I never use it, but I have been reaching for this a lot as a mutipurpose highlighting product. I use this as a face highlight, an inner corner highlight and a brow bone highlight. This eyeshadow is really finely milled so it gives the skin a nice glow without looking glittery, and it lasts a long time. See swatch of this later in this post.
Jurlique Rose Hand Cream: I got this in this months Bellabox (see post here). I really like this hand cream, it is a really thick hand cream but doesn't feel greasy. I love thick hand creams, and this one is just really nice to use. I am not the biggest fan of the Rose scent, but it is tolerable - this also comes in lavender and citrus, and if I were to buy this again I would buy the citrus.
Kosmea Rosehip Oil: This is my holy grail rosehip oil, I find that it keeps my oily skin balanced and prevents me from getting spots. My mum also loves this because it makes her skin firmer, and I know that other people love it for hydrating the skin. This is an expensive rosehip oil but it is the best, and I recently found out that it is available at Chemist Warehouse (unlike previously when it was only available at places like David Jones). Not only is it now easier to buy, but it is also more likely to be on sale... and since Chemist Warehouse had a good sale this month I got to pick up a 42ml back up bottle of this for $25 instead of $45. Love this oil!
Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder in the shade 52: When I originally bought this powder (see review here), I bought it in the shade 53 which was the shade that matched my Bourjois foundation. I really loved the powder, but strangely the shade 53 ended up applying way too dark once it hit the foundation. When I bought this powder again in my Priceline haul (see post here) I bought it in the lightest shade and I love it! It is super soft, gives good coverage, and is the perfect shade for my skin. I bought this at the end of April and I have already hit pan. When this goes on sale again, I will stock up.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: This is my savior this month! I had some mega bad breakouts when I first went on holidays, I blame the planes etc, and luckily I packed this drying lotion last minute. I applied this to my spots for the first few nights of my holiday and it cleared up all of my nasty painful spots, and I went from not wanting to be in photos to not worrying at all. I love this stuff! See my review of this product here.
Lorac Fierce eyeshadow: This is my most used eyeshadow this month, it is the perfect shimmery nude shade for me... its not too light and frosty like most "nude" shades I come across, and it is really pigmented and doesn't need a primer for it to stay on all day. I pretty much used this shadow everyday when I was on holidays because it is just so quick and easy to apply for a fast makeup look. See swatch below, and see review of this palette here.
Revlon nail polish in Heavenly: I haven't reviewed this nail polish yet, but I can't wait to! I bought this in Japan and it is such a pretty glitter polish, and sadly it's not available in Australia. It is a clear base with heaps of clear iridescent glitter and just makes any nail polish look amazing. Stay tuned for a full review.
Lancome Hipnose Star mascara: I got this mascara sample in a Lust Have It box earlier this year (see post here) and I only started to use it this month. I love this mascara, I am not the biggest fan of the shape of the brush, but besides that it is perfect! It is really thick and volumising and I no longer need to layer two mascaras to get a bold effect - this does it all on its own. If you love thick mascara, but you don't like it too clumpy, then this is perfect or you... it packs on the mascara without clumping your lashes. Once I finish the unopened mascaras that I have as backups, I will be more than happy to fork out the money for this mascara.
Maybelline ColorSensational Vivid in Vibrant Mandarin: I love this shade of lipstick, it is a stunning bright orangey red that is right up my alley! It is a conformable, pigmented and easy to apply... but it doesn't last very long. Nevertheless, I love the shade and this is my favourite alternative to a red lip this month. See full review of my ColorSensational Vivids here.
