Lime Crime Countessa Flourescent Lipstick - swatches and review

April 20, 2013

I ordered a few items from Lipstick Republic the other week when they were having a 20% off sale. I ordered a nail polish, some pigments and this Lime Crime lipstick. I have a few Lime Crime lipsticks (two oranges , two reds and a purple - see my Lime Crime lipstick collection post here), but I don't have any pinks! I was never a big pink lip fan, but lately I love the look of a bright pink lip. Lime Crime recently brought out a new pink called Geradium which is a bright coral, and I wanted to buy that shade along with Countessa Flourescent, which is a bright blue based pink, and I wanted to compare the two on my blog. Geradium was sold out, but I couldn't pass up buying Countessa Flourescent while it was on sale. This cost $16.80 on sale, but is normally $21 at Lipstick Republic (use the code RepublicVIBs for 10% off your order), or you can buy it at Lime Crime.

The packaging is obviously cute, in a bright purple box with silver reflective writing. This is also a vegan lipstick, which is great... but what is even better is that it feels like a normal lipstick!

The actual packaging of the tube is make of the distinctive Lime Crime purple, and has a holographic unicorn on the tube. This tube is quite chunky and is slightly thicker than a regular MAC sized lipstick.

In the tube this looks very pink, but it doesn't look super bright... I was a little disappointed looking at the lipstick in the tube because it looks quite dull. The scent of this lipstick is a soft vanilla scent, very similar to the scent of MAC lipsticks.

When swatched the lipstick starts to look really bright and impressive, it is also really smooth and pigmented. This is clearly has a white base which makes the colour pop once you apply it. I have worn this lipstick two or three times since getting it, and it is a really easy lipstick to wear. You don't have to prep your lips, it doesn't cling to dry patches at all, it glides on, isn't drying, has great pigmentation, and the colour wears a good 2-3 hours easily and then fades to a nice pink stain (which I love). I wore this last Saturday night and I only needed to reapply it once.

Overall I love this lipstick, and I would honestly say that it is my favourite out of all the Lime Crime lipsticks I own. It's bold, it's bright, it's comfortable, it doesn't dry your lips, and it lasts. I will definitely get a lot of use out of this lipstick! If you are looking for a bold bright pink, don't waste your time trying other brands/shades - I highly recommend Countessa Flourescent by Lime Crime!
