April 2013 Lust Have It Box

April 27, 2013

My Lust Have It box has finally arrived! This arrived much later than I was expecting, and my annual subscription has run out so it has only given me 4 days decided whether I want to resubscribe (which I no doubt will). This costs $19.95 per month, but if you want to subscribe then you can use the discount code KITSCH to get $5 off your first box at http://www.lusthaveit.com.au

I have filmed an opening video for this box...

For the past three-four months, the Lust Have It boxes have been arriving in these patterned boxes. The pattern and colour varies each month... these are really great to use as storage boxes.

This is a pretty jam packed box. There are two full sized products in my box - a papaw ointment and an eyeshadow, and there are also some samples of some pretty expensive products. I actually missed out on the Rachel K CC Cream samples... but no doubt if I contact LHI, they will send them out (I'll keep you guys posted).

Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo and Thickening Conditioner - 10ml samples: These are really expensive products! The full sizes are 200ml and cost $49.00 and $49.95. I don't know if I have ever used such expensive hair products... I am curious to see how my hair responds to some exfoliating.
Edit: These are strange products, the shampoo is really runny and doesn't foam up, and both the shampoo and conditioner smell really herbal. My hair does feel nice and clean, and pretty soft, but I don't know if I like the idea of a shampoo that doesn't foam.

Nude By Nature Papaw Ointment - full size: This is MASSIVE! Holy shit what a big tub of papaw ointment! I have never been a big papaw ointment fan, but I am more than happy to keep this next to my bed for a night time lip treatment. This is also petrochemical free, unlike Vaseline and other papaw ointments. This is quite a thin ointment, and is not at all sticky, but this also has little chunks in it, which you can see in the photo below. I don't know if this is supposed to have little chunks, or if this is just something that is on the surface of the balm... who knows? Anyway, this smells really nice and I am happy to use it. This is also a really affordable product - $12.95 for 75g.

Gosh Cosmetics Mono Eye Shadow - full size: This is in the shade 016 Aubergine which is a really pretty dark purple. I don't have a shade like this, but I can imagine getting a lot of use out of this since it is a great Autumn shade and would work well with bronzes and coppers. This is really smooth to apply and has no fall out, but it isn't the most pigmented eyeshadow, and it needs some building up.

Molton Brown Patchouli and Saffron Body Wash - 30ml sample: This is a really nice smelling body wash, it is a really nice warm floral scent. A lot of people would be sick of body wash and shampoo samples, but I haven't tried Molton Brown, and I will be using this ASAP!

AWE Cosmeceuticals Nirvaata Calming Serum - 5ml sample: This is a barrier serum that is designed to protect the skin against sensitives etc, this is a great idea for people with sensitive skin... but I don't have sensitive skin so it's not really for me. I might take this traveling instead of bringing a full size serum with me.

Pink Tiger Duri Cosmetics Nail Tools: Nail File and Lint-Free Gauze: Gauze is the best thing to take nail polish off with! When I used to work in a lab I used to take gauze home to take my nail polish off with... it works well because it is quite rough and really scrubs the polish off. I don't know how much this claims to cost, but I work at a hospital and these are pretty easily accessible for me. This pack does contain 200 sheets which will last ages.

Overall this box is not the best box, but its pretty good... even without the CC Cream samples!

Did you get this box, or did you get something different? What did you think?

  4. You received one of the good boxes! I received the papaw ointment as well but a 30g tube and didn't receive the Molton Brown or Aveda products. So not fair, considering I'm also have an annual membership / vip.

    1. I only got it a few weeks ago from LHI, they are giving it out to a lot of bloggers... It's the first time I have mentioned it, so I'll see what happens with it!

  8. I got a black eyeshadow, your colour is so much prettier and yes, perfect for Autumn. My box was a little different... haven't done the post for it yet as I am feeling very uninspired by it all. My first box as an annual subscriber and I'm feeling pretty 'meh'!
I got the same Pink Tiger and Molten Brown goodies, a Goldwell Volumising Gel Shampoo and a Cleanser/Makeup remover. Good thing was none of it came in little sachets...

  9. Ah! Finally seen a box the same as I received last Friday - well, almost!
I too missed the Rachel K CC Cream samples and wasn't too concerned until I saw some great feedback from others who've received them so I did send an email to LHI and hopefully they can send them out (will fit in an envelope with 60c stamp!).
    Even same shade of eyeshadow!
For item 7. in the Pink Tiger Nail Tools - mine said a Pedi Paddle (which I did get) and I also received the Lint Free Gauze - so that's a bonus!

I'm more than happy with my LHI box this month (even without the bonus gauze) and for my current $14.95 subscription (incl.postage) it's excellent value.
I too have a few days to sign up for the Annual Subscription, which I will be doin - just waiting to hear from LHI how best to do it - don't want another April box by signing up by 30 April!

    1. Yeah good point! I don't want to get two April boxes either! I should email them about the CC cream and the new annual subscription. Glad you liked your box, I really liked mine too

  10. I got the same box and was also missing the CC cream. Seems that a lot of people didn't get it.
A couple of months ago my box didn't arrive at all. I emailed them and they sent me out two different replacement boxes and a lovely apology. I have lots of good things to say about LHI

    1. They don't have special boxes for annual subscriptions vs monthly subscribers, its just the luck of the draw sadly

  14. my only guess with the Aveda shampoo not foaming is because it doesn't have SLS in it?

I'm still thinking if i should go for annual membership or not. I need to cut down on boxes but LHI have lifted their game!

When I put my fingers in it worms started to come out and so I went and comment on your post...so here I am posting it in reality LOL this ointment is so horrible -- the little particles in it is so gross I had a nightmare about it.
