What's on my bathroom sink.

March 27, 2013

Wow this photo of my bathroom sink looks crazy packed! In person it really doesn't look that bad! I thought I would share what was on my bathroom sink, and to go through each item and mention whether I love it and would repurchase it, or whether its meh and I'm just using it up until I can buy something to replace it.

Starting from the left of the sink... this is where I keep my teeth products, hair styling products and hand soap. I only keep my hair styling product and my boyfriends styling product here, and all of my other hair products that I don't use daily (oils, heat protectants, hairspray etc) are kept under the sink.

Colgate Optic White Toothpaste: I love this stuff, and I have two tubes of this under my sink as a back up. I would love to review this product, but I have braces so its hard to show before and after pictures. I do however think this is whitening my teeth, and I really like the feel and taste.

Colgate Dental Floss: You can't see this very well from the photo, but there is a cup that contains a toothbrush, toothpaste and the dental floss. I would repurchase this dental floss, but I am not too fussed about which dental floss I use.

Urban Rituelle Organic Hand Wash and Hand Cream: I don't mind these products, but I don't think they are easy to find, and I wouldn't go out of my way to track them down. The hand soap is really earthy scented, which my boyfriend really likes, but I think both the products are just nice... they aren't my favourite hand products.

De Lorenzo Elements Earth Mud Slide Styling Cream: I got this product from the Lust Have It Eco Box in December, and when I first got it, I didn't have a pixie cut so I was worried it will go to waste. Since I got my hair cut, I have been using this to style my hair, and I really like it. I would definitely consider repurchasing it in the future.

KMS California Hair Play Molding Paste: This is the boyfriends choice in hair styling product, and we have two of these under the sink, so this will be on my sink for a long time.

Colgate NeutraFluor 220: I use this because I have braces and it is supposed to strengthen teeth... I have two of these under my sink too.

Onto daily skin care products:

Garnier Clean Sensitive 2 in 1 Gentle Makeup Remover: I mainly use this to remove my eye makeup before I cleanse my skin. I find that this works really well, is really gentle and is really affordable. See review here.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser: I love using this when I have early starts, I find that it really wakes me up because it has a lot of tingly eucalyptus. These are hard to get in Australia, but I may buy one of these on ebay in the future. See review here.

One Skin System Renewal Cleanser and Daily Hydrate: I really like these products, the cleanser is a nice fresh cream cleanser and the moisturiser is a light fresh moisturiser. My only problem with these products is that they look the same, both in packaging and the actual cream product... if I don't keep them in order I can easily mistake them. I am also a little torn with the moisturiser; I love the scent and feel of the moisturiser, but it is too light for a night moisturiser, and it doesn't contain SPF for a day moisturiser - it's a good product and I want to love it, but I don't know if it suits my skin routine. I really like this range though, and am keen to try the other skincare they have. See review here.

Biore Triple Action Toner: I am not really fussed with toners, and this one is fine. I also have a Biore cleaner in my shower and I really like it. I would consider repurchasing this, but I like to try new toners until I find my holy grail toner.

Onto other skincare products...

Shu Uemura Fresh Cleansing Oil: I love this stuff, and I tend to use this to take my whole face of makeup off (if I have heavy eye makeup, I use the Garnier makeup remover on my eyes first). It feels really nice and it melts off my makeup. This bottle has lasted me nearly a year, so I will probably repurchase this, but I might wait for it to go on sale on strawberrynet, because this is not cheap!

Pharmaoil Skin Therapy: Pharmaoil was having a giveaway of this oil on their facebook page, so I signed up to try a bottle. I believe this is a moisturising oil, and I have been using it on the dry skin on my back and my arms. I don't mind it, but it is quite a heavy oil, and I wouldn't want to use it on my face often.

U Skin Solutions Clean and Go Exfoliating Gel Cleanser: This is a strong exfoliant that works really well at scrubbing my skin, but I haven't used it enough to decide whether or not I would repurchase it.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold: I am not sold on this product, I do think it makes your skin feel really nice the day after you apply it, but it doesn't have any long term effect for me. I do have a back up of this, only because I got it in a pack with the night serum... I don't think I will purchase it again. See review here.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Intensive Night Repair Serum: I am also not really sold on this serum, it isn't bad, but I don't think it is worth the price, luckily I got this in a good deal when they were changing to new packaging and the old packaged products were being sold cheap. I won't repurchase.

Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector: I love this sunscreen, it is really thick and protects your skin from UVA and UVB. This also doesn't give that horrible greasy feel that other sunscreens give, which is why I am happy to wear it under my foundation on a daily basis (when I remember to wear it).

Organic Moroccan Oil sample: This is a little sample of a hair oil, and it's ok but I find it too runny for a hair oil, also the bottle is quite annoying to use. Once I use it up, I won't buy a full size.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: This will always have a place in my bathroom. It is the best spot treatment ever, and it has helped my skin so much! I am already thinking of buying a new one for when this runs out. See review here

Sukin Rosehip Oil: I need rosehip oil in my skin routine, and even though this is not my preferred brand, it's ok. I do prefer Kosmea and I have a Kosmea backup under my sink.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse sample: This is a multipurpose oil that smells amazing! I like to use this in my hair, on my face, on my body... anywhere. I have purchased a full size.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex mini size: My friend gave this to me because she is allergic to it. I don't use eye cream too often, but this one is ok... I don't see any rave differences, so I wouldn't purchase any time soon.

Anyway that's everything that I keep on my sink... maybe one day I will delve into under my sink so you guys can see everything that I am storing as backups and all my samples etc.

  1. Wow, great choices! I've been using the same Shu Cleansing Oil and have been loving it too! I really have to pick up that Nuxe body oil sometime soon (sounds lovely) and that lightweight zinc sunscreen sounds perfect! xo

  3. You sure do keep a lot of beauty and hygienic products at home. Sometimes it can be so untidy with all the containers out of place. It depends though if you're not lazy enough to arrange all those after use. :)
