Bellabox March 2013

March 14, 2013

It seems like I have been only doing posts about beauty boxes lately... I am currently subscribed to three of them, but I will have to cull a couple of them off over the next few months. I was happy that my Bellabox came so early, usually I get mine a few days to a week after everyone else.

If you are interested in subscribing to Bellabox, they are $15 a month and you can sign up here. Also click on the label Bellabox on the right side of my blog and you can see all my previous boxes that I have received.

So far the card looks pretty decent, a few natural skin care products, a perfume sample, a lip liner and a lip gloss... also an energy bar. A good range of products, and a few full size makeup items.

Ocean Essence Coconut Body Milk 20ml: I originally thought this was a sample, but supposedly you can buy this small tube for $4.95. This is a body milk, so its pretty much like a light moisturiser. It smells like coconut, which is my most hated scent, but this is a nice soft scent which is almost vanilla-ish.

Simuolive Oil Hydrating Shower Gel 50ml sample: This is a really nice sized product, I like the packaging design, and it smells quite clean - this would be a great product for both men and women. This is also made in New Zealand, I love trying more local products.

Guerlain La Petite Rose Noire Edt 1ml sample: I was glad this came, because I have been interested in trying it ever since Fleur De Force reviewed it on her blog. This is a pretty strong perfume, and I haven't worn it for very long, but I can imagine it lasting all day. It smells like a typical perfume, which I usually don't like, but this also has a soft floral and fruity scent, which is really nice. I probably won't buy the full size of this, but this is a perfume that most people will find quite wearable even if it's not really their thing.

Designer Brands Lip Pencil in the shade 629 Nude: This is a really long lip pencil, and it has a sharpener on the lid that I like. I like affordable makeup, but I am a bit of a snob when it comes to Designer Brands... mainly because I have bought a few of their items in the past and ended up throwing them out because they weren't good. Swatching this it seems ok, its a nice nude shade, its quite a firm pencil, but applies quite easily.

Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Playful Nude: This is a nice addition to the box, I like this brand, and I like the shade of the gloss. This is normally $9.95 so its pretty good value, and it is definitely something that I will throw in my bag and get a lot of use out of. This is a shiny, but not sticky gloss, it is an peachy nude shade and has a little bit of shimmer, it also smells like peppermint and tingles the lips, which I like. So far a thumbs up for this gloss.

Designer Brands lip pencil and Yes To Carrots lip gloss

Swisse Active Energy Bar in Choc Coconut Recovery: I don't eat these bars, not because I don't want to but because I just never have tried them. I am definitely happy to give it a go, and I will try it when I come back from the gym today. Great little bonus in this box!

We also got a 50% off voucher for a Harvest Box, I got one of these in a Lust Have It box a while ago... I didn't use the voucher then, but I might use this one now.

Overall, this is a pretty good box... no complaints. All the products are things I haven't tried, and are happy to try.

What do you think of this box? Do you get Bellabox, did you get something different in your box?

Also remember to follow my blog! Once I reach 500 followers I will do a giveaway!

  2. Oh damn it! A good box comes right after I quit my subscription because I didn't feel it was worth it! Love to hear more of your thoughts on the perfume though, have read a couple of reviews on it but would like to know your opinion as well.

  3. I received the same box as you this month and even though the value is only a little over $20 , I will use everything in the box for the 1st time in months . I was pleased with the colours I received in the gloss and liner ( the same shades as you ) and am interested to try the shower gel and like the fact that it is only $14.95 for the full size (always like something affordable so lets hope its what I am hoping for I love products with Olive Oil in them as I have dry skin and it works a treat )

  4. Have you notice that these subscription boxes have a similar method to what they put in. I feel I have seen these exact some products just a different brand and colour. I am so sick of getting lipgloss, shampoo/conditioner, and perfume samples.

    1. I agree! I understand that they want a range or products, but man I'd love to see a good gel eyeliner, a cream eyeshadow, or a nice statement lipstick/lip tar!!!

  7. This is a lovely box (compared to the others we've received) but I still don't feel as though I missed out on anything since I unsubscribed last month! The Yes To Carrots lip gloss looks fab though.

    1. Unsub-ed last month too, and I'm glad I did! I wouldn't be all that happy if I received that box... Maybe I'm just too hard to please?

    2. Yeah I think you have to be open to trying a lot of things if you want to get subscription boxes... if you want specific products, then spend the money on buying those products instead. I have discovered some great things thanks to beauty boxes... but I can understand that they aren't for everyone

  8. Interesting picks! I actually quite like that Guerlain perfume, but it is quite strong so I'd definitely save it for special occasions. And that Yes to Carrots balm looks lovely :)

  9. I'm really pleased with this months box. I got a different one to you but just quietly I like the one I was sent even more! Will use everything it it. I got the coconut body milk (not crazy about the smell but will try it out), a gel face mask from ocean essence, glamourflage lip balm tin, db lip pencil in pink (turns out this is pretty much the same ad my natural lip colour so it will get a lot of use), Clinique High impact mascara sample (!!!!) and the energy bar. All things I would probably never have bought otherwise but am super excited to try, which I suppose is exactly the point of these boxes.
