Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask review

January 18, 2013

I remember googling this product about 6 months ago, I think I saw it on YouTube and I really wanted to give it a try. Sadly, I couldn't find anywhere in Melbourne that seemed to stock it... but I was at Coles the other day picking up some kitty litter, and BAM! there it was! It cost something like $9.95 or $9.99 for 150ml, so I picked it up straight away.

The main reasons I wanted this was because I love doing peel off masks, I find them really fun to do but they can be hard to find in store, especially large tubes like this one. I also love cucumber, so this was a win win. If you haven't tried peel off masks before, they are a little like a nose pore pack but for your face and more gentle. They aren't supposed to be hydrating, but are supposed to be more clarifying... so its an alternative to the drying clay masks and would suit people who have oilier skin, or people who get clogged pores.

So its a pretty simple process, you smear some of this clear glue like gel all over your face and then the peel it off once it has dried. The drying time will vary depending on how thick you spread the gel, but it generally takes about 10 minutes.

This gel was very thick and sticky and takes a little bit of effort to spread out, but the good thing about it being sticky is that it doesn't run down your face when you are waiting for it to dry. I love the cucumber smell, I find it really nice and fresh and makes me think of fancy facial treatments. It was easy to peel off, but I would recommend you avoid your hair line and eyebrows when applying this, because it can pull at the hairs when you are peeling it off. You will also find some areas that haven't completely peeled off, but just wash your face afterwards and it comes off easily.

All in all, this is a pretty decent peel-off mask, and it is definitely affordable. If you also love peel-off masks then I would definitely say give this one a go, however if you have never tried a peel-off mask, you might want to try a smaller size bottle before you buy a tube this big.

  5. I tried the product years and years ago in grade school and remember being totally mesmerized by the process of peeling it off. Maybe I'll have to give it another go! Freeman really make some amazing masks, and for about $3 Canadian a tube, you really can't go wrong! :)

  6. I’ve tried this one, Kat. I hope you wouldn’t give me a surprised look. Haha! You see, I’ve been called a vain guy by some, but I don’t think letting their words take effect on me can keep a great skin. So much about them. I like this one. This is like a clarifying mask that gently peels away impurities. Plus, I always enjoy the peeling off part. It feels like I’m having a professional treatment. XD -->Geoffrey
