December 2012 Favourites

January 2, 2013

Even though I did recently do a favourites of 2012 post, I thought I should still do a December favourites. Two of these favourites are shown in the 2012 favourites, so I won't go into too much detail about them.

Oral B Vitality electric toothbrush: So I have had this toothbrush since I moved out of home, which was about 3 and a half years ago, so it has lasted really well... of course I have changed the brush heads numerous times. The reason why this has been included in my favourites this month is because I got braces at the start of December, and having an electric toothbrush has been so handy! Firstly, braces hurt so much when you first get them, so having something that cleans your teeth fast and easily without too much pressure, was really great. Also you get so much stuff stuck in your braces and this toothbrush gets it all out easily.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Finishing Creme: This is just a sample size from the December Bellabox, and I wasn't too keen to try it, because I tried a serum from this range and wasn't a fan, but I gave this creme a go and I was pretty impressed! I decided to include this because I have been using it a lot this month, and I always forget to include hair products in my favourites posts. This creme is designed to be used on dry hair, so if I wash and dry my hair and I think it is a little frizzy, I just work a little bit of this product through my hair, and it gets rid of the friz without weighing down my hair or adding any greasiness. I also use this on the days when I am not washing my hair, and this helps to reduce the crazy bed hair look.

Clarisonic Mia: I was given this for Christmas, and I have been wanting one for aaages. I only use my Charisonic at night, and it makes my skin feel really soft and is great at getting rid of all of my makeup. See my first impression review here.

Lush Feeling Younger Skin Tint: I got this last week during the boxing day sales, it was half price so it cost me $9.97. This reminds me of Benefits High Beam, but its cheaper (even at full price) and it is made of more natural ingredients. I am really impressed with this highlighter it is quite pigmented so you can apply it for a dramatic shimmer or you can make it more sheer. I also love that it is also designed to be mixed with your foundation to brighten up your skin. If you like liquid highlighters but prefer more natural makeup, then check this out. I will do a full review and swatches of this soon.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Naked Rose: I got this blush at the start of December, and it has quickly become one of my all time favourite blushes. I featured this in my favourites of 2012 post because it's a great natural shade that you can wear with any makeup look, it is super soft and easy to apply, and it smells great! See my review of it here.

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow: I bought this cream pigment along the blush, and I have also been loving this as a contour product. The shade is the most perfectly natural contour shade, so I no longer have to worry about weird orange toned contour products! I am still struggling to find the right brush to apply this, because it is a really firm cream, so I just use my fingers. Once I find the right brush this will be an amazing product to use! Anyone have any recommendations on how to apply Illamasqua cream pigments? See my review here.

SauceBox Creme de la Creme eye shadow palette: I also included this in my favourites of 2012 post as being my favourite eye product. I bought this from Lipstick Republic and I was instantly impressed with the quality of the shadows. They are buttery smooth, super super highly pigmented, they last all day without creasing, and you get sooo much product! My only concern is that these can create a bit of fall out, and any fall out with the black can lead to messy makeup... so you just need to be careful. SauceBox have two other palettes that are quite colourful, I wish they would release another neutral palette, and I would buy it instantly! See my review and swatches of the palette here.

Nail stamping plates QA40 and MLS301: I bought the two plates from ebay for $4 each, and I love them! They are so much fun! I did two nail looks with these plates this month. See look 1, see look 2.

ARGH I also forgot to include my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser! I will have to remember to include this in my next favourites, since I know this will be a favourite throughout January too!

I hope you had a great Christmas, New Years and holidays! What were your favourites from December?

Also remember to check out my 200 followers/Christmas giveaway!

  2. I can't wait for your review of the Lush highlighter, I've been thinking about picking it up for a while.

I love Hollow. I usually apply it with fingers then blend it with a really dense kabuki brush.
