Whats in my shower?

December 18, 2012

I like knowing what products people use day to day, so I decided to do a whats in my shower post. I have been meaning to do this post for some time now, but I have been putting it off because I wanted to have all my favourites in my shower before I did a post. But I realised the other day that I never have the same products in my shower, since I am always trying new things... so I may as well do one with the things I have in the shower now!

So just some random things I have:
  • A pumice
  • Loofah gloves
  • Kuu Konjac Deep Cleansing Konjac Sponge that I got from the Lush Have It Eco box (see post here)
  • Schick Quattro razor
  • Shea butter soap

Davroe Volume Senses shampoo and conditioner: I won these in a Lust Have It hamper ages ago, and even though I probably won't go out of my way to buy them again soon (mainly because I don't want to spend $10 shipping, and I don't know where else to get them), I do think these are great products. The shampoo foams up really well in my hair and almost feels like a clarifying shampoo and the conditioner detangles my hair without making it feel heavy. My hair is left feeling clean and light weight. Also it smells nice, its a strange scent - almost earthy but fresh.

Lush Ponche shower gel: I only got this the other day, but it is really nice... its a strong sweet fruity scent that almost smells like wine gum lollies or sangria or something... it is supposed to smell like punch, so I guess that makes a lot of sense. I am going to hit Lush after Christmas and nab some of their Christmas products on sale!

De Lorenzo rejuven8 treatment: I got this in the October Lust Have It box (see post here), and I have been slowly using this product... but I doubt I will repurchase. I find the consistency a little waxy, and it takes ages for it to start detangling your hair. This is not really a shower product, its more of a long treatment that you would use in a bath... and I don't think the results are worth the time and effort. It does smell like apple blackcurrant juice which is nice.

Head and Shoulders Apple Fresh shampoo: This is the boyfriends shampoo, so lets pass on this... but it does smell really nice, and he has been using it for the past 3 years that I have known him, so it must be decent.

Korres Guava Shower Gel: I have had this shower gel for a while now, and I got two of them while they were on sale for around $11 on strawberrynet.com. It's an ok shower gel, I would love it more if it foamed up a bit better as I find myself having to use a lot of gel to make it foam. The smell is a warm fruity scent, which is ok... but I prefer fresher scents, and I find that I get sick of this scent after a while... I probably shouldn't have bought two!

Colgate Total toothpaste: I love to brush my teeth in the shower so I always keep a toothpaste in there.

Garnier Clean Detox Gentle Brightening Scrub: I love this stuff, it is supposed to be a scrub but it barely contains any exfoliating particles, so I mainly use this as a cleanser. It foams up super well and strips all your makeup and oils from your skin... bad for dry skin, but great for oily or combination skin! I would definitely repurchase this. See a more in depth review here.

Mario Badescu A.H.A Botanical Body Soap: This is a body wash that is designed to clear up any spots or oily skin. I find that in really hot weather (and it's Summer here), or if I have been exercising a lot, my skin gets all sweaty and gross and can break out... so on hot days or after a gym session I tend to use this body wash. I have only started using it so I don't know what I think of it yet.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant: This is an ok product, it is a powder that you mix with water which activates the powder to create a microfoliant. I originally expected this to be quite grainy and for it to create a scrub, but it creates a watery paste that chemically exfoliates your skin. If you have sensitive skin then you may love this, but I prefer the feeling of a grainy scrub, so this doesn't cut it for me... it does leave your skin feeling soft though. See review here.

St Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub: I bought this because I missed having a scrub. I adore the St Ives Green Tea Scrub, but because I only used the green tea one throughout all of 2011, I banned myself from using it in 2012, so I can try new things. This timeless skin one is no way as good as the green tea one, or even the original apricot one, it is like a cream cleanser with some exfoliating particles, and it's a lot of gentle than the others in the range. Once again, this may be good for sensitive skin, but I need something stronger. It does smell really nice though

World Organic Juniper Berry Cleansing Face Wash and Almost Seed Face Exfoliant samples: I always tend to have samples in my shower from beauty boxes, I got these from the Lust Have It Eco Box (see post here) last week, and so I am trying them out. So far I am really liking the exfoliant, which has fine exfoliating particles and scrubs really well, but the cleanser is a cream cleanser, and I am generally not a fan of cream cleansers. They both smell really nice and zesty though.

So that's what is in my shower at the moment, what's in yours? This is not really a tag or anything, but if you do a post like this, or have done a post like this, I would love it if you could share the link in the comments section.

Also I am currently running a giveaway, so check that out here if you want to enter!

    1. The green tea one is epic! It smells really nice and it contains heaps of small ganules, so it works really well without being as rough as the original apricot one.

Also I recommend brushing your teeth in the shower, not only can you let the toothpaste run down your face, but you leave the shower feeling super clean all over... and yes, it does save time :)

  9. I have just put up a post about what is in my shower too. I have been the same with wanting all my favourites to be in the shower at once. It is the same reason I have never done a "routine" post as I'm never using all of my favourites at once.
