November 2012 Favourites!

December 3, 2012

Yay my first blog post in nearly a week! I thought it was appropriate to start with my November favourites. I have just moved house and haven't yet unpacked all of my makeup, so I have mainly chosen things that I have been using a lot of recently... and a few things that I bought recently and love!

Top: Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder in 14 Olive/Tanned Skin. Bottom:
Mirennesse Cheeky Blush in 2 Russian Rose

Mirennesse Cheeky Blush in 2 Russian Rose - I got this free with a Mirenesse order, I thought this was a sample, but I just realised that this is the full size and costs $29.95 (WTF?!?). It is however a great blush, its super pigmented and blends beautifully... I only started using this blush because I put it in my makeup bag (see my post here) because of it's cute size, I am glad I did start using it because I love it. The colour is a nice dusky rose with a slight mauve tone to it, it also has a tiny bit of shimmer, but applies pretty matte. I would love to try the peach one in this range, but I am not sure if I am willing to pay nearly $30 for 2.5 grams of product, also what is with the bra on the packaging?

Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder in 14 Olive/Tanned Skin - I got this bronzer in a Bourjois gift with purchase, and its not my most favourite bronzer, and is a little too dark for me, but I love the packaging. The mirror is so handy for a makeup bag (see photos in my makeup bag post), and I use it often to apply my lip or eye makeup. As you can see from the photos above, the actual bronzer it does tend to get that hard layer on top of it, and you do need to scratch it off to use the product (boo).

Top: Lush Cream Eyeshadow in Sophisticated. Middle: MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Twilight Falls. Bottom: MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Daylight
Lush Cream Eyeshadow in Sophisticated (see review here) - This is my go to easy every day eye makeup product for the last week or so. I apply a light coverage all over my eye and add some liquid eyeliner and mascara, and BAM, an easy and really pretty eye look! This also wears really well, it does not crease at all, but it slowly starts to fade at the end of the day, which I don't mind. I'm sure it will fade less with a primer, but I like the natural look this gives.

MAC Mineralize Eye Shadows in Twilight Falls and Daylight (see review here) - I love these mineralise eye shadows, they are great everyday colours for me, they are the perfect brown/purple taupe colours and suit brown eyes really well. Along with the Lush Cream Eyeshadow, these are the main things I have been wearing in the last week or two.

Benefit The Pore Professional - I got this sample in the Bellabox annual subscribers gift (see review here). I didn't have much faith in this because primers don't work very well on me, but I love this one! I always have the problem with the makeup caking around my nose and cheek area after a few hours, but this stops it! Now I can go back to using so many foundations that I stopped using because of this caking problem! I will no doubt buy the full size of this when the sample runs out.

Benefit Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in the shade 23 - Because of the wonders of the Benefit primer, I have been able to go back and use this foundation again (YAY!), so I decided to include this in my favourites because I haven't used this foundation in a while and I love it. This foundation has a great smell, finish, and it has the perfect light to medium coverage. This is not too dewy, but it is not uncomfortably matte either.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey - I already have five of these that I bought off ebay at the start of the year, so their release in Australia wasn't too exciting for me (especially since I paid around $11 on ebay but they cost $18 in Australia), but I decided to have a look in Priceline because they were having a buy one get one free sale, and I picked up Honey and another shade (I will do a review soon). I didn't think I would like Honey, because it was so hyped up, but I have to admit defeat because I do love it. It is a nude toned pink that is really flattering, and lasts surprisingly a long time for a light shaded tint.

OCC Lip Tar in Radiate (see review here) - I picked up a couple of Lip Tars recently, and I am in love with this one. It is a neon red/coral colour and lasts on your lips for hours and hours and hours. I love it, it is the perfect bright lip colour!

Marc Jacobs DOT perfume (see review here) - My favourite perfume of the month has to be DOT, it is the nicest sweet, but not overly sweet, perfume.

My favourite nail look of the month (see post here) - I recently decided to do my nails with Bourois 10 Days No Chips polish in the shade 14 and Karpati Dito Nail Lacquer in the shade Pretty In Pin, and I loved how it looked! It is my favourite nail look of the month by far!

  2. I received that Mirenesse blush as well, but haven't tried it out as its sitting underneath my Christmas tree (punishment for breaking a spending ban). I'm really keen to see how it works on my skin now. And I'm definitely going to take a look at that Lush eye shadow. It looks fantastic!
