October 2012 Empties

November 7, 2012

I was really worried that I was going to have no empties in October, until about the third week I think I had only a few samples used, I must have really picked up my act in the last week of October :P I can tell you, my November empties will be pretty big because I am nearly at the bottom of a lot of products!

Ok lets get started!

Bioré Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser sample
I liked this sample, this cleanser is super foamy, really fresh, and deeply cleans your skin. This probably won't be the best for dry skinned people, but being an oily skinned gal who still suffers from spots in her mid-20s and do doubt beyond, I loved this. I loved it so much that I did buy the full size... and I managed to pick it in up in a really good pack (see review on the Bioré pack here). In case you want to get it, I did see it for just under $11 at My Chemist at Northland yesterday... so it's still around!

Klorane Shampoo with Oat Milk - 25ml sample and Klorane Conditioning Cream with Pomegranate - 10ml
I got these in the October Bellabox (see post here), and I wasn't too impressed. I found that the shampoo didn't lather too much, which lead me to use the whole sample in one use (and I have pretty short hair), and the conditioner felt thick and waxy. I'm sure some people will love these, but I won't purchase the full size. The conditioner does smell really nice though.

Apivita Express Beauty Mask with Aloe - 8ml sachet
I love these, they are really nice deep moisturising masks, and I like that you get two sachets in a pack, it means you can try different types without having to commit to a large size. I do find that these contain a lot of product, so some can go to waste since it is hard to keep the left overs for another day, but I tend to force my boyfriend to do a mask with me when I use this, and we comfortably spread this over two people. It is a deep moisturiser so I would recommend to do this before bed, because it can leave you looking greasy. I would repurchase.

Schick Quattro four pack of razor blades
I have had a Schick Quattro razor for about three years now, so I don't really have a choice in what blades I can buy. I do love this razor, and I find the blades last me a good few months without going blunt, so this four pack pretty much lasts a whole year! I will repurchase.

Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renewer - 7ml sample
I also got this in the Bellabox this month (see post here) and I did enjoy using it. It is an exfoliating serum, so it's kinda like a serum and an Alpha-H Liquid Gold type product. I did like using this, but it is $102 for a 50ml size... and I am not sure if it is worth that much money.

Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator - 7mL sample
I got this in my Estee Lauder gift with purchase (see post here). I loved this stuff, it is a serum that I used in the morning after I cleansed my skin, and it was like rubbing silk into your face. It smells like orange lollies and had a light gold shimmer to it... which unfortunately didn't make my face look illuminated, but the product was nice. I liked being able to put serum on during the day too, and I am considering buying the full size of this, but the 50ml costs $115... and I don't think I need it, it was just nice to use.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E
If you love Palmer's Cocoa Butter, then try this stuff! It is like Cocoa Butter but 10 times better! This is one of those thick greasy body butters that are designed for really dry skin... but I tend to like using it on my legs and feet before I go to bed. I find that you wake up and it still feels like you have moistiuriser on. If you don't like thick greasy treatments then don't buy this... but if you do, its amazing. It also lasts ages because its a big tub and you don't need much... it costs $9.50 in Priceline. I will repurchase this, as soon as I use up all my other body butters.

Priceline Round Cotton Pads 100 pack
I use these every day, and I have repurchased over and over. I have already bought a two pack of these, which cost about $3.50... so yes I will definitely repurchase.

Norsca 24 hr Superior Anti-While Marking Anti-Perspirant Deodorant in Clear Passion Flower
I loved this, it has a good strong spray so you didn't need to use too much, and it definitely didn't leave white marks. I love the smell too, it was a light fruity floral. I would repurchase this for sure, I just need to get through the deodorants I had as a back up first.

Purell Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser with Aloe Vera
Ok I am not the biggest hand sanitiser fan... I don't mind germs, I think they keep your immune system strong. I did buy two of these to take with me to China, when I went for a month earlier this year. I used maybe a quarter of this in China and I have only just finished the bottle now (clearly I am not a germ-a-phobe). I do like having this in my bag because if I need to apply concealer or something during the day then this is good to use first, or if I just feel like my hands are particularly dirty. I also like using it for cleaning earrings before I use them. I have another bottle of this, but I would likely eventually repurchase this when I run out of the second bottle.

L'Oreal Bare Natural Gentle Mineral Powder
I don't know what shade this is, or how much it costs... I got this as a free gift with a strawberrynet purchase. I don't like the packaging... the lid twists off and often it would twist off in my bag, also the brush that comes with this is so rough that it is barely useable! I did have this is my bag for a few months and it was an ok powder, but I stopped using it and when I picked it up the other day I realised that it was so dry that it was unusable - so this isn't really an empty, but I want to throw it out. I would not repurchase this powder.

Priceline Cotton Tips 300 Pack
These are cheap and do the job. I would definitely repurchase but I think I will get a smaller pack, this container doesn't close all that well so I had it open most of the time. I have since bought a different brand, but that was because they were on sale. I will repurchase these Priceline ones again in the future though.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner in 002 Absolute Brown
I love this liquid eyeliner, it has a sponge tip applicator (which gets a little out of shade after you have used it for a long time), but it is easy to use and is really dark, bold, and matte. I have repurchased this numerous times and I started using it when I was in high school. You also get a lot of product and the liner lasts for ages. I have repurchased this, but I bought it on ebay in a three pack for about $15... I should do a review on it.

Prestige Ultimate Brow Definer in BU-01 Blondy
I love this pencil, it is my go to pencil for a quick natural look. It is a twist up pencil and I tend to go through these pretty quickly. This is my second or third pencil and I will repurchase for sure. See my review on this here.

Bellazzia Grapefruit Vanilla Body Butter
I bought this years ago and I found it in my cupboard and decided to try to use it up. It is an ok body butter but it is nothing special. I would not repurchase this, it's just nothing special.

There you have it, I thought I had barely any empties for October, but that proved me wrong! Have you used any of these products? What do you think?

  1. Northland MyChemist, you must live near me :) I live in the Northern suburbs ;P I agree that germs keep your immune system healthy, it takes me ages to go thru the gels but they are great when you can't wash your hands straight away. Great job on the empties!

  2. I never thought about using hand sanitiser to clean earrings before wearing them! That's a great tip. I've been using the Clinique turnaround radiance renewer too from bellabox, but to be honest, I have no idea what it's supposed to do!

    1. Its just a serum... I liked it, but I wouldn't spend that much money on it!
Yeah I have been doing that with earrings for years... otherwise my ears get infected after a couple of hours after wearing nice earrings.
