*Product Rave* Discover Kosmea Collection and Rose Hip Oil review

November 10, 2012

I got this pack when I won the Lust Have It hamper (see post here), and I have been putting off opening this because I want to save these travel size products for if I go away next year, but I HAD to open it today because I am out of the rose hip oil sample that I got in the October Lust Have It box (see post here) and I NEED this rose hip oil... I am addicted to it!

You can buy this pack from the Lust Have It online shop, or from the Kosmea website. It retails for $39.95, which is pretty good since the 20ml bottle of Rose Hip oil costs $24.95 on its own!

This pack contains the following:
  • Skin Clinic Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil 20mL
  • Purifying Cream Cleanser 20mL
  • Clarifying Facial Wash 20mL
  • Daily Facial Exfoliant 20g
  • Hydrating Rosewater Mist 25mL
  • Replenishing Moisture Cream 20mL

I haven't used this pack yet, but I have used the cleanser and the moisturiser before and I do really like them. I also think that all of these travel/sample size products contain quite a good amount of product, and you will be able to sample them over a week or two. In addition, this is a really good way to see which products you like before you buy a full version.

Onto the rose hip oil!...

I am a convert, I adore this stuff, and I only ever go a night without it if I am using my Alpha-H Liquid Gold... which may be 1-2 times a week. If you know me in person, I have no doubt mentioned this oil to you; I have praised to to my mum, my boyfriend, my friends, nurses at work etc etc etc... I am hooked!

What's so good about it you might ask... well, since using this I have had such good skin, and it pretty much happened after 1-2 applications. My oily combination skin no longer suffers from break outs, even during 'that time of the month', and I don't remember one time in the last 15 years where I haven't broken out during that hormonal time. My skin has turned from moderately high maintenance skin, to skin that has no problems. I have tried numerous moisturisers, cleansers, toners, serums etc and my skin has pretty much been the same throughout them all, except for when I tried this product!

This is what the Kosmea website claims it does:
Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants, this easily-absorbed oil is a real treat for the skin. It may help smooth wrinkles, even out skin tone, reduce appearance of scars, moisturise and soothe dry skin, nourish and hydrate ageing skin, balance oily skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes. Great for giving that glow to dull, tired skin!

I don't know about wrinkles etc etc, but I do know that it has balanced my oily skin, reduced the appearance of blemishes, cleared up some of the red spots and scarring left from blemishes, and has added a healthy glow to my skin! I am in love, and I can assure you that this product will become a permanent addition to my skin routine.

So this is what it looks like, the bottle comes with a dropper applicator, and you only need about 3-4 drops. The colour of the oil is a dark amber colour, and it smells kind of strange. I can't pin point what it smells like, but it smells like a food product, something like bread or grains or something. You get used to the smell.

I use this at night after I wash my face, and after it has soaked in, I then apply a night moisturiser.

Did anyone else get the sample of this in the Lust Have It box? Did you enjoy it as much as me? Or do you use another rose hip oil, and if so, what brand?

Don't forget to check out my Lime Crime giveaway!

  1. I got Kosmea's Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost in my LHI Eco Box and I love it! It's not pure rose hip oil (which I will definitely try once I finish it), but it has also improved my skin. Like you, I use it each night.

    1. I am glad to hear their other products are good too. Try the rose hip oil, I am sure you will love it :)

  2. Wow, sounds like a miracle product for you :) I have not tried rosehip oil but I'm currently using argan oil which I mix with my moisturiser. I've been liking the results. Perhaps when I am finished with my bottle I will seek this one out :)

  3. Wow! So happy that you've found something that's made such a big difference. I'll have to check it out, since we have similar skin types :)
