Purple eyeshadow look

August 13, 2012

I was talking to my friend on Thursday about how we used to wear crazy bold eye colours when we were younger, and these days were boring and only wore neutrals - and when we do wear colours it's really toned down by using browns or black as well as the colour. We were catching up for dinner on the Saturday and made a promise that we will turn up to dinner wearing only bright colours on our eyes (the rules were only colours on the lids, but anything above the crease or on the eyelashes). I chose purple, and she chose blue.

This is what the purple look ended up being like. I'll do a quick run through of the products I used.

Eyes:
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Gossip
Urban Decay eye shadow in Flash - all over the eye
Urban Decay eye shadow in Grifter - inner corner highlight
MAC pigment in Violet - in the middle of the lip for extra shimmer
Sleek Storm Palette - matte light brown for a crease colour
MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet - as the eyeliner
Korres provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara in 01 Black

Face:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation in Shade 53
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in 02 Nude
Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder in Tender Rose
Korres Zea Mays Blush in 47 Orange Brown

Lips:
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous

Eyebrows:
MAC eye shadow in Show Stopper

    1. I used to wear make up like that when I was younger all the time... sure maybe not as many products, but I never even knew what neutrals were, it was only green, blue and purple

  3. This looks gorgeous! Vibrant, but still grown-up. I used to wear crazy eye shadow colours all the time in high school and now often find myself in a constant "neutrals" rut. It's always a challenge to wear bright shadows in a way that's age-appropriate, but it's always fun to try! Your attempt looks great :)

  4. Oh my word you look stunning, those purple shades are fantastic! I'm in lust! I'm struggling to get out of a 'silver or bust' phase right now so thank you for the inspiration to give a few brighter colours a try :) I've nominated you for a blog award if you'd like to check it out here http://zombiesweareyeliner.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-sunshine-award.html
