My Bourjois blush collection

August 20, 2012

I went from having no Bourjois blushes, and a month later I have four! I must admit, I have been taking advantage of the Bourjois deal on their Australian website where you can download a voucher where you get $10 off any Bourjois product at Priceline this month.

I have three of their individual blushes (shade 33 Lilas d'Or, shade 48 Cendre de Rose Brune, and shade 74 Rose Ambre), and one of their Sculpting Duo Effect blush in shade 5.

I think I have a really good range of their blushes, I have a shimmer, a matte pink, a matte peach, and a matte flesh toned blush (that I use as a contour) that comes with a peach shimmer (highlight). I can't imagine needing to anymore of these any time soon... but they are very pretty and I think by the end of the month I may have been tempted to get another Sculpting Duo Effect blush.

I love the packaging of each of these, they come in nice sturdy plastic containers, and each of them have a mirror and a brush. Of course the Sculpting Duo Effect blush comes with a bigger brush and mirror, but I am very happy to see that the little ones do as well. I am a huge supporter of having a mirror in my makeup, and even though I won't use these brushes, I like that Bourjois doesn't expect everyone to have extensive makeup brush collections.

These individual blushes smell amazing almost like a floral baby powder, I know this won't float everyone's boats, but I love it. You can smell the blush while you are putting it on, but it doesn't linger on your face. The Sculpting Duo Effect blush has a smell too, but its a bit more subtle, and smells more fruity/berry.

I do find that the two individual matte colours are the most pigmented, but they are also the ones that create the most mess (see photo below). Just swirling the brush in the pan creates a lot of powder. This is not a huge deal, but beware because you can over do these two blushes if you don't be careful. The shimmery blush and the blush duo doesn't seem to have this problem, but they aren't as pigmented either.

In Austalia the individual blushes come in 12 shades, and the Sculpting Duo Effect comes in 4 shades. Are there any shades in particular that people recommend me tying? Out of these I think I use the Sculpting Duo Effect blush the most, but my favourite colour is the pink blush in shade 48.

  5. I have a whole bunch of the Bourjois blushes but not Cendre de Rose Brune or Rose Ambre! I love the look of those two. Once Target were selling them for $5, I'm not sure if the promotion is still on though. I also took advantage of the $10 off code and bought myself a backup Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation :D

    1. Thats so amazingly cheap! I wish I had seen that. I did end up getting two of these with that $10 off voucher when Bourjois was 20% off at Priceline, which ended up being $6 a blush. Awesome value!
