Bourjois Little Round Pots Of Parisian Charm pack: review and swatches

August 9, 2012

Before yesterday I had only ever owned Bourjois concealer and foundation. Yesterday I received one of their lovely blushes in the mail, see the review here, and since then I have taken up the $10 off any Bourjois product at Priceline offer (which you can access here). and I bought this pack of eye shadows. This pack contains full sized eye shadows in 08, 74, and 90.

This pack was an absolute bargain, its currently on sale for $20, and with the $10 off voucher, it was $10 for the three. In Australia each eyeshadow pot costs $20 each! Normally I don't go for light eye shadows, but I am going to a old Hollywood themed ball next week and I want to do a light eye with dramatic eyeliner. This kit was perfect as it contains a base colour, a contour colour and a highlight colour.

This is how the back of the box recommends to use these eyeshadows:

Left to right: Shade 08, 74, 90

These are baked eye shadows, and contain 1.5 grams of product, and the packaging contains a good sized mirror, and a curved applicator that sits perfectly over the domed shadow. I won't be using these applicators, but I like that they contain them... not everyone has a collection of brushes. My favourite thing about this packaging is the magnetic clasp that keeps these containers closed, it is very satisfying clicking the lids open and closed.

These shadows are soft and pigmented, with the most pigmented colour being shade 08 (the nude). They also seem very easy to blend. The most patchy colour is the 90 (the white), but I think that's because it is the most shimmery of the three and is designed to be applied more sheer than in the swatch. The nude and brown and both more of a satin finish and apply like a matte shadow, but has a slight sheen to them. Because they aren't a shimmer, they are a little powdery and the colour probably won't last very long without a primer.

I like these and look forward to playing around with them more, so far my favourite is the nude shade, followed by the brown. I will probably only use the white as a highlight.

Are there any Bourjois eye shadow shades that people recommend?

  1. These look like some beautiful, totally wearable shades! Great swatches :)

I used Bourjois Beige Rose eyeshadow (a shimmery beige) as a highlight nearly every day for a year. Totally finished it up! Looking forward to trying more from the brand.

Ooooh! And you should do a FOTN for the Hollywood Ball. That'd be right up my alley!

    2. Damn interwebs!! So unreliable. It allways seems to be delayed when you need something desperately too!
