New makeup storage

July 23, 2012

I got this baby for $16.80 at Big W and thought it would be perfect for cleaning up my messy makeup table. Please note, this does not fit all of my makeup, most of my lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes I keep in a drawer, and my eyeliners/lip pencils I keep in a cup, I keep brushes etc in a cup, and I keep all my skin care in the bathroom.

I thought I would just run through my drawers starting from the bottom and working my way up.

First drawer - foundation/concealer/powder

Note the really light and the really dark Dream Matte Mousse, my Mum bought me a really dark one on sale, so I bought a really light one and I mix them together - it works really well :)

Second drawer - blushes/highlighters

Third drawer - lip glosses/lipsticks I have recently used

Fourth drawer - cream eye shadow, cream/liquid liner, eyebrow products, mascara

Fifth drawer - loose pigments/frequently used eye shadow palettes/ random small shadows

Sorry about the green tint to it all, I guess that's what happens when you decide to get a green plastic container. If you want to see swatches or reviews about anything in here, just leave a comment xx

  2. I'd love to see Sugar Pill and Sleek Make Up swatches and reviews! Have been eyeing both brands for ages! :) I love the little storage drawers. My sister has something similar with three instead!

  3. I LOVE to see storage posts, I can never seem to have all of my makeup all organized at once! I use similar drawers, but they're white. Not the best because unless you have items jammed in there they move around every time you open a drawer! But hey, its better than looking at a desk covered in makeup ;)

    1. They do move about which is annoying, and I tend to forget about items that are at the back of the drawer. Heaps better than having them all over my desk or thrown in a box like I used to have :)

  4. Wow! You have quite a decent range of products. All the makeup I own (except for lipsticks) fits into a travel makeup bag!

I totally want your blush drawer. What shade is the red MAC blush? Frankly Scarlet? It looks a little deeper though.

    1. It's actually a cream color base in Movie Star Red. It's super pigmented and quite hard to use, but it can be used on the lips or cheeks. I tend to use it on the lips more. I might do a post about it, thanks for the idea x
