Mini Sleek Haul

June 7, 2012 Melbourne VIC, Australia

Look what came in the mail yesterday! These are my newest additions to my small Sleek family. I ordered a Glo highlighter in peach shimmer, a contour kit in the colour light, and also my first Sleek palette in storm. I swatched the products on my arm below. I got each of these items on ebay for approximately $10 per item.

Below is the Sleek contour kit in light

I used the contour kit today and it works really well. The matte brown is quite subtle so it doesn't leave you with a brown strip down your face. The highlighter is very pigmented, so you have be quite light handed with it. When I wore this for the first time today by boyfriend asked me if I had lost weight because my face looked skinnier... haha sucker!

Below are the swatches of each line of the highlighter, and on the left is a large swatch of the colours mixed. I guess you could use each line of the highlighter separately, but together it makes a nice peachy gold. This concept reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. I haven't tried the Bobbi Brown version, but this might be a super cheap alternative. The Sleek highlighter costs $10, and the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick costs $85.

The eye shadows in this palette are great, they are really soft and easy to use. The shimmer colours are softer than the three matte colours. The light brown matte colour on the top row is a perfect crease colour.

Today I tested out the storm palette by using a few blues and bowns. I also used the contour kit. Here is the look below

  1. Love this post, I want all of this Sleek stuff. It looks gorgeous! x

    1. I think I might redo the eyeshadow swatches, they are much more pigmented than the pictures make out. Thanks for commenting xx

  2. Such an enviable haul! I'm definitely going to pick up some Sleek bits when I head to the UK later this year. Although the prices you managed to get them for are still very reasonable. Gotta love Ebay!

The contour and highlighting duo seems great. I've actually never tried contouring before. Eeep! But considering you mentioned that the contour colour is quite subtle - I think this would be a good one to start with. It looks lovely on you. Plus I look forward to seeing if I can fool my boyfriend too!
